Information on bus routes in bkk

Featured Replies

Hi how do you find u find information on the buses? I see bus 44 but lord knows where it goes and I cannot read the thai on the bus.

Note that that Transit site is VERY much out of date-it is based on data and maps of about 10-11 years ago and thus does not show:

routes changed since/routes new since\it also omits about half of BKKs buses

A wiki page on BMTA also lists routes but only BMTA and in a very confusing clumsy way.

their routefinder always sends you into some form of rail and ignores even direct buslinks and is mainly limited to BKks centre area

But then many of BKks bus routes have not changed since 40-50 yrs-you only have to know whcih ones

Also note that on many routes there are various types of buses/companies and these may also differ on routings-but learn Thai and its all written on them. Tipically the average TV-user is unable anyway to find anything without ''the GF'', away from lower Sukh.

Bus 44 runs to Happyland-is not that a place anyone would wish to go to?

PS-pop into any tourist-aimed bookshop, also many 7s in those areas, pay 99bt and get the latest BKKs bus routemap-latest edition is from 2013 and accurate (ed. 1 may be found ehre and there and shows various errors).

This very same Q pops up on this forum about every 6-7 monthes. Probably a new load of khon ajarn angkrit

How could anyone not want to visit Happyland?!? (yes it is a shitty area as the name implies)

As Khun Asanee says, just buy a bus map. They are stocked at almost all bookstores - english and thai.

The Bus routes Map 5th Ed that TGJ mentions in the other thread in his first post is the easiest to use & read whilst on the go, just a little out of date but that won't matter 99% of the time.
