Permission to Overstay?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

Tried to search for something relating to my circumstances but couldn't find anything, so here goes.

I'm on a Multi Entry Type B visa, which expires in March.

However, my next 90 day border run is due on the 18th of January.

Due to unforseen circumstances, we need to go back to Australia temporarily. Now, there's not an issue leaving the country by the 18th, however, there are flights I can catch on the 20th which will save me over $200...

Now, is there any way I can legally stay for an extra two days? I'm in Chiang Mai - anything immigration there can do?

I'm well aware of the fines involved for overstaying and would prefer to do things correctly - I'd just rather not have to drive to Mai Sot for a border run if I can.

Thanks,

You can apply at immigration for a 7 day extension. Fee is 1900 baht.
