With a broken arm and leg, I'd prefer not to go myself. Can anyone recommend a reliable agency for this on Phangan? I'll ask around, of course, but thought it worth posting the question here. If I can't find an agency, can anyone do it for me, like can I send a friend with my passport? I might be in good enough shape to hobble there myself in three weeks' time, but I'd really prefer not having to go. Also is one photo enough? Last time I extended they only took one, and I only have one left. New photos would be another pain in the a*** seeing it's real difficult for me to leave the house, and the cast isn't expected to come off until mid-late Feb. Just in time for my next border run... This is the only extension that can be made without you being present. From police order 777/2551 2.25 In the case of medical treatment or convalescence or to look after a patient: Permission will be granted for a period of not more than 90 days at a time. (1) Confirmation and request has been made by a physician responsible for the treatment. The Physician must describe the details of treatment and advised that the illness is a barrier for travelling.(2) In the case of looking after a patient, confirmation and request has been made by the physician responsible for the treatment or by an embassy or consulate.(3) Patient Carer, except parents, spouse, children, adopted children or children of spouse, shall be granted no more than 1 extra person. 5 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

They say the rehab is hellish once the cast comes off and walking can be a real pain for several weeks. I guess the way it works is, the doc writes a report recommending extension which I then attach to my application, the rest is same same (1900 baht, 1 photo etc.)? And someone will still need to visit Immigration on my behalf? It's not like the doc sorts it all out with Immigration without any input from me, is it. I think I'll go for four wheels once I've recovered... Can't blame Phangan though, my accident was entirely due to my own stupidity and didn't involve anyone else. But an accident like this does make you realise deeply how fragile and exposed you are on a bike.
