January 11, 201412 yr Although this subject was last covered a couple of years ago on TV, I would like an update. My question is, from practice experience which brands of portable arc welder available in hardware outlets such as Global House or Thai Watsada have proven reliable over the years? Something like the one pictured here
January 23, 201412 yr Welpro seems ok but the rods they use here seem to be a bit naff. My next welder will be a gas-less MiG. Avoid the cheapo Chinese ones.
January 23, 201412 yr Get an inverter type, lighter, less "sticking" a dream to weld with compared to the ones like shown.
January 23, 201412 yr I've got a JASIC. It works OK. The secret is that the electrodes must be dry. Here in humid Thailand that is difficult without a low humidity/heated container. So buy electrodes in small packets, etc.
