scorecard
I need to change Several thousand US dollars to Baht. Years ago the best exchange place was at the mouth of Soi 9 on Sukhumvit, (if my memory is correct for the soi number). Would appreciate any suggestions of places for good rate. Thanks. Ajaan
It's still in the same place, Vasu. Except you're a little off on the soi, it's 7/1. And it's probably still the best.
HidyHo
Vasu Exchange (Sukhumvit 7/1) and SuperRich ... Google them ... they both post the exchange rate on their websites.
Curt1591
You need to go to Superrich Ratchadamri for their best rates.
sometimewoodworker
You need to go to Superrich Ratchadamri for their best rates.I've never used Vasu but the rate quoted is the same for my currency (at the time I made this post) as the Green SuperRich (FWIW they have the better rate than the orange SuperRich

Groongthep
The Green Super Rich outlet at the corner of Rajdamri Soi 1 and Phetchaburi Soi 30 nearly always has the best rates in Bangkok. The good rates are evidenced by the very large number of Thai customers (usually business owners) who always pack this place. You'll need to bring your passport and be prepared to take a number and wait in a crowded line. Sometimes it is a long line, but it will be worth it if you are exchanging a large amount of money. Here is the link to their website with map and phone numbers: http://www.superrichthailand.com/new/map.htmlThe easiest way to get there is to get off the BTS Skytrain at the Chit Lom Station, walk west (toward the Erawan Shrine) and cut through the Gaysorn Plaza shopping center which will be on your right. From there go down to Rajdamri Road turn right again, walk past Big C and it will be down the small soi Rajdamri Soi 1 to your right.A word of caution, there is a orange branch in the BTS Station and another main branch down this same soi 1 but their rates are not as good as the green one in the link, so make sure you go to the one with the green facade. (see map in link). It can be confusing since they are different businesses which have the same name.Hope this helps. https://maps.google.co.th/maps?q=%E0%B8%8B%E0%B8%B8%E0%B8%9B%E0%B9%80%E0%B8%9B%E0%B8%AD%E0%B8%A3%E0%B9%8C%E0%B8%A3%E0%B8%B4%E0%B8%8A+(%E0%B9%84%E0%B8%97%E0%B8%A2%E0%B9%81%E0%B8%A5%E0%B8%99%E0%B8%94%E0%B9%8C)+%E0%B8%96%E0%B8%99%E0%B8%99%E0%B8%A3%E0%B8%B2%E0%B8%8A%E0%B8%94%E0%B8%B3%E0%B8%A3%E0%B8%B4+%E0%B8%9B%E0%B8%97%E0%B8%B8%E0%B8%A1%E0%B8%A7%E0%B8%B1%E0%B8%99+%E0%B8%81%E0%B8%A3%E0%B8%B8%E0%B8%87%E0%B9%80%E0%B8%97%E0%B8%9E%E0%B8%A1%E0%B8%AB%E0%B8%B2%E0%B8%99%E0%B8%84%E0%B8%A3&hl=th&ie=UTF8&ll=13.748327,100.541964&spn=0.001506,0.002411&sll=13.724604,100.633072&sspn=0.756416,1.352692&oq=%E0%B8%8B%E0%B8%B8%E0%B8%9B%E0%B9%80%E0%B8%9B%E0%B8%AD%E0%B8%A3%E0%B9%8C%E0%B8%A3%E0%B8%B4%E0%B8%8A&hq=%E0%B8%8B%E0%B8%B8%E0%B8%9B%E0%B9%80%E0%B8%9B%E0%B8%AD%E0%B8%A3%E0%B9%8C%E0%B8%A3%E0%B8%B4%E0%B8%8A+(%E0%B9%84%E0%B8%97%E0%B8%A2%E0%B9%81%E0%B8%A5%E0%B8%99%E0%B8%94%E0%B9%8C)&hnear=%E0%B8%96%E0%B8%99%E0%B8%99+%E0%B8%A3%E0%B8%B2%E0%B8%8A%E0%B8%94%E0%B8%B3%E0%B8%A3%E0%B8%B4+%E0%B9%81%E0%B8%82%E0%B8%A7%E0%B8%87+%E0%B8%A5%E0%B8%B8%E0%B8%A1%E0%B8%9E%E0%B8%B4%E0%B8%99%E0%B8%B5+%E0%B9%80%E0%B8%82%E0%B8%95+%E0%B8%9B%E0%B8%97%E0%B8%B8%E0%B8%A1%E0%B8%A7%E0%B8%B1%E0%B8%99+%E0%B8%81%E0%B8%A3%E0%B8%B8%E0%B8%87%E0%B9%80%E0%B8%97%E0%B8%9E%E0%B8%A1%E0%B8%AB%E0%B8%B2%E0%B8%99%E0%B8%84%E0%B8%A3+10330&t=m&layer=c&cbll=13.748394,100.541803&panoid=RGPMCOFlszL--_YZb8QMCg&cbp=12,326.77,,0,0&z=19 Edited January 20, 2014 by Groongthep
maccaroni man
Agree and super rich will deliver to your hotel. If you do have them deliver be sure to check all the bills for wear and tear IMO it is best to reject torn or battered notes.

RAZZELL
To bump this a little. Is the "green superrich" different to the other website? Do Vasu offer better rates or are they essentially all the same? Just looked and on the Vasu website was .1 better. It changes day to day so it is always best to check the websites before going to the exchange. As a general rule though, the Green Superrich and Vasu nearly always have the best rates, but you are correct in noting that one is not always better than the other. Again, check the websites immediately before you head to the exchange whichever it be.
