PATTAYA:--On Monday Morning Police were called to a Real Estate Office in South Pattaya to investigate reports of an IPhone 5 theft which had just taken place.

Police arrived and met with Khun Tanyamai aged 40 who works at the Arise Asia Office in Pratamnuk Soi 6. She had an earlier encounter with a man who she thinks stole her IPhone 5 from the office.

Police were able to arrest the suspect 300 meters away from the office, later named as Khun Bia aged 27. He was found to be in possession of 4 mobile phones, thought to have been stolen.

The victim’s phone was not in his possession but a GPS tracking app on another IPhone was able to locate the phone in the Pratamnuk Mountain area. Officers led Khun Bia to the location and he was able to retrieve the phone which was buried in a remote area of woodland, approximately 500 meters away from the victim’s office. The suspect had wrapped the phone in Aluminum Foil, in an attempt to block the GPS signal.
