Woody1
OMG, again! In Pattaya, expect it to start (in the likes of Soi 7, Beach Rd) on the 11th, by the 13th it'll be in full swing, with the 19th being the main carnage day in Pattaya. You can still get soaked on the 20th too, but you'll have to go out of Pattaya central. PS, these dates are for April.

Popular Post Suradit69
take care of water in your mouth or eyes, much of it is from the gutters. "much of it is from the gutters. Where have you experienced Songkran where people filled their water guns, buckets , hoses, elephants by taking water from the gutters? There seem to be no shortage of freely available taps in Pattaya. At that time of the year it usually has not started raining so the only water in the gutters would be from people throwing it about. Have you ever tried to fill a water gun from the gutter? Thai people are generally quite fastidious about personal hygiene and I can't think of anyone I know who would want to handle sewage. I sometimes think I can no longer be surprised by the utterly pointless rush to say something ridiculously, fictitiously negative about life in Thailand ... and then I'm proved wrong. The O/P asks about the dates of an event and then this gratuitous & irrelevant comment ... it's like trying to conduct a conversation with a room full of fractious children. KittenKong
Not Songkran again, please. Anything but that. Riots and curfews are more fun and easier to live with.

JSixpack
Much too early for the annual HATE SONGKRAN thread. Last year's FAQ should answer all your preliminary questions: 2013 Songkran FAQ Edited January 24, 2014 by JSixpack
