Been comparing to thinkpad T440 and X240. Good clear screen for long hour email, long battery 5hr+, light, durable. Budget upto 40k

If your budget is 40k, why not mac book pro 13" retina screen from http://store.apple.com/th-k12 (with education discount) which starts from 40,500 baht.

Been a PC kind of guy since windows 3.1 so a bit scared to move to Mac platform

Drivers and everything will work like windows? Which windows can it be installed?

Win 7 and 8 works fine, with all drivers.

Are you talking about dual boot installation.

It can both work dual boot or under mac os + vmware fusion.

Dual boot is easy, but once you get used to mac os x, you wouldn't want to deal with windows 8.

But if I install Win 7 and office window version then not much storage left on 128gb ssd or even 256ssd then

You can partition harddrive any way you want. You can leave very little space for mac os system and use the rest for windows.

Windows on Mac book can also see Mac OS drive and read / write so not all space is lost.

However you can't remove mac os x and install windows only.

Seem a lot to be done just to use Mac machine...

Thats not true. Mac book pro 13 is decently priced and competitive with windows alternatives. Besides, retina dpi mode works awesome while windows still cant figure it out on high res and high dpi.

"As for the display, the X1 Carbon still comes standard with a 14-inch, non-touch 1,600 x 900 screen, though there is that 2,560 x 1,440 panel, assuming you have the money to upgrade beyond the $1,299 starting price."

So in order to get retina high res panel, you need to pay over 1299 usd, which is the starting price of mac book pro 13 retina model.

For the first time in history, you don't pay extra for Apple logo and pay just for hardware's worth. Windows high dpi mode is terrible on higher resolutions.

This reminds me of that cartoon series (I want an iphone) that keeps repeating itself over and over.

Seriously, <deleted> is going to buy a Mac just to run Windows? There is a plethora of other products on the market to do that.

Well I am not the one wanting Mac from the first place. Some here suggested me to install windows on Mac Pro. My question was to ask for opinion of note book for 40k with long battery life and light weigh with at least 13 inch Good screen for email.

I have also been looking for a new laptop. First idea was Lenovo X1 carbon, but it is really expensive.

Now thinking of 13" Macbook pro retina as an alternative, as the price of the hardware seems quite good actually.

Then again, it would not be possible to upgrade memory or larger SSD later on, which is a big drawback.

As for OS, either osx or linux.

What are the SSD and ram sizes for the 33kbaht Samsung on the topic?

Any other PC alternative to x1 carbon apart from going all the way to Mac platform?
