Working in Thailand

Featured Replies

How and what requirements you have to do to work in Thailand? The job would be erecting wind turbines possibly in various locations

Crane operator is a profession that is reserved for Thais. See: Occupations and Professions Prohibited to Aliens

Edit: You changed your post while I was posting.

You could possibly work as a superintendent or such.

It requires working for a Thai company and obtaining a work permit along with a non immigrant B visa.

Even if the company is from outside Thailand and thailand didnt have a crane of this size?

Most jobs/occupations A farang legally can't do in Thailand.Get use to it.It's been that way for years.Even if you owned the company you would need To hire A Thai to operate it.

With thailands O&G and petrochemical business pretty sure there are already cranes big enough to do this in thailand

But still wouldn't change the WP requirements, the company from out side thailand would need to be working with a local thai company to facilitate all the legal requirements

This not strictly true I know of expats who operate very high capacity cranes ie 1000 Mt plus lift capacity as they require specialist licences/ training and experience which is not available locally

Yeah, the crane would be of similar capacity. The auxiliary cranes would be used from local thai companies.

Off topic post removed. Topic is about work permits not a discussion about solar vs wind power.

Edit: In response to another removed post. All it takes is one off topic post to derail the discussion.
