Geriatric Doctor in Hua Hin area that speaks English for my elderly Mother.

Featured Replies

Anybody have the name of a good geriatric doctor in the Hua Hin area?

Or just the name of a good doctor in the Hua Hin area?

Budget is not a issue.

What is the best hospital in Hua Hin?

Thanks for any info.

I don't know of any geriatric medicine specialists, but the hospital discussion comes up often and I think it is up to personal preference and budget. If budget is really not an issue, probably Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin is the best option for you. They are a professional private hospital with English speaking staff (mostly) and to my knowledge all the doctors there speak English. For a less expensive private hospital I like Petcharat in Petchaburi but that is about a 45 minute drive north. I have had good service at Hua Hin government hospital which is very cheap by comparison. There is now a special desk for foreigners to register with English speaking staff to help you and if you don't want the long wait with all the Thais you can pay a small fee to jump the line. The final option is San Paulo and while some people have had good experiences there, I know many more who have had bad experiences and it is expensive (like Bangkok Hospital) so I personally avoid that one. I did go once years ago and was grossly misdiagnosed and over charged.
