Not an expert in this field , we buy cheese from a local brand CAROLINE, from Pak Chong, they are available in Supermarkets.

Give it a try and contact them.

If you want it for Pizza's Makro do 2kg slabs of Mozzerella. If for sandwiches/meals/selling in smaller quanties, Makro also do 2kg blocks of Red Cheddar/Yellow Cheddar. If you want processed Cheddar, Belucky do 1 1/2 kg blocks.

thanx for the replies, i didnt know Caroline was made in thailand...i'll check out makro and see what the prices are...

thinking of opening a pizza place, and i need to see how much local materials cost.

When/where are you opening? :o

also...where do you get your pizza oven equipment?...this has been a considered possibility here in the barbarous lands of south Suphan...

pizza ovens can be used to make roast marinated ribs as well...ah' done it when I worked for a take out place in La Habra in SoCal...we did a good trade...usin' Jimmy Dean Ribs...yassuh...

I always buy my mozzarela cheese at Makro, 2kg bricks but they sometimes have bigger than that, 10 kg I think, usually from New Zealand. 2kg is about 650 baht.

lets talk about Thai customs when confronted by a 4 kilo block of mozzarella.

'it mildly stinks so you can't eat it...'

'it is not-injectable so that you cannot get high'

'the filthy falangs are trying to cheat us...let's put them in jail...48 months in the BKK Hilton until restituton is made. Everyone knows that pizza was invented on Suk...some time ago...sergeant Somthai to supervise...

thanx for all the cheese connections, definately helpful, just have to check the content now and the 'meltability' <<<that a word?

across the street from my flat here in HCMC there is a place that advertises "Pizza, Pasta, Fried Chicken'. I had the pizza...not bad but it has no cheese?...a nice fresh thin crust with a little tomato sauce then the toppings...not bad tasting actually. I had two of the kids here from Suphan and they liked it...they ain't big fans of cheese...I think that a lot of asians are lactose intolerant...
