90-days by Mail - stuck at Laksi PO - EMS, have tracking - what to do?

Featured Replies

Sent 90-days by Mail to Chaenwatana, I have the tracking via EMS and sent it on 13Jan, it's been stuck undelivered at Laksi PO (Bkk) since the 15th due to the protests - what should I do about this?

Thanks

My suggestion is to just wait it out. The post office is already holding several of them from other reports we have gotten.

You have proof you sent the report and that is enough to avoid being fined.

Actually I wonder whether it might be prudent for the OP to go along to 1 of the alternative BKK locations sooner rather than later with his EMS proof and explain the situation. Hopefully we are not talking about a prolonged closure of CW, but if we were and his January report was still gathering dust in some pigeonhole at Laksi PO when his next report became due in April, he might be faced with a messy situation then - not least because he would be unable to produce the receipt confirmation slip for his January report!

The immigration website says to wait until 30 days after your report date before contacting them. That would mean sometime near the end of the month going by date the OP mailed his.

30 days would be 15 Feb, there must be a lot of people in the same boat.

I assumed you had mailed your report 15 days early as required by the rules for Bangkok immigration mail in reports.

My report is due on 5 Feb and even with it now sitting at Lak Si post office I'm going to do my report in person on the 4th.

If wanting to check on 90 day reports this is a temporary number posted on immigration website 092-3294915.

I sent mine after yours and it has been retuned.

Just a thought based on what I know the civil service; Immigration specifies the Post Office and wants 20 Bt stamp duty on the return envelope, perhaps they suspect that an EMS letter doesn't have that return envelope inside and it is going to cost you the fine.

Ignore that.

I see that EMS is a tracking system, I thought it was a separate company. Mine was at Laad Phrao post office on 13th sent out on 16th and delivered by 0900 on 16 th. It was returned before the end of January.
