Extend a 30 Day visit

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I have a Non Imm O - 'purpose retirement' - based Chiang Mai.

My daughter - English' - is coming over to visit and will be picking up the usual 'Tourist 30 Visa' waiver on entry.

She will probably ideally stay for maybe 60 day more before returning.

Is there any way to extend the 'Tourist 30 Visa' Waiver to +30, 60 or 90 days after she enters - it would be better than border runs every 15 days etc.

It would be at Chiang Mai Immi Office - I find that they are a pretty decent bunch there.

Thnxs.

FS.

The only extension available for a visa exempt entry is 7 days, however if she is a UK citizen she can now get 30 days at a border crossing. Another option would be to apply for a Tourist Visa before her departure, giving a 60 day entry, with the 30 day extension. It can be done in the region, but would require an overnight stay.

Concur, check with Hull, they're reported to have decent turnaround time for a visa:

A single-entry tourist visa is indeed he correct visa for this travel itinerary.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

Hi,

My thnxs for replies.

We are here now so have to do a Visa Run for daughter.

But something strange - we arrived via BKK in transit for CNX - so Immi sutff done in BKK.

On daughters passport they have put the usual Entry stamp but have not filled in a date for 'Valid Until' - that has been left blank.

I am sure they always put in the date for us over the years?

The date of entry is there - do they just assume 30 days from tha??

Rgds. FS.

It would be a good idea to make a trip to immigration and get the stamp corrected rather than waiting until she leaves the country.
