My (Thai) wife insists that if a dog eats eggs its fur will fall out.

I contend that eggs would form a natural part of a pooch's diet if it was wild and that they are good for the dog (as part of a balanced diet, of course).

I did Google it and all the sites I found also say that eggs are not a problem for dogs, so where does the idea that they are bad come from?

cooked eggs no problem (but hardboild makes them fart)

and dogs dont really eat raw eggs in the wild either that much, they dont have access except to duck eggs since they dont climb trees for the most part.

i think there is a problem with the RAW whites of the egg preventing absorbtion of certain nutrients... same as in people... but cant remember and maybe thats outdated?...

Seriously any vet will tell you thats is ok - actually makes their coats healthier.

Raw whites can make the dog vomit.

I feed my dogs cooked eggs regularly and they all have beautiful healthy coats. But, I don't feed them raw eggs and it isn't their sole source of food, eggs mixed with cooked chicken and vegetables, rice and dry dog food.

your dog (and other animal can eat egg (cooked only) , good source of protien and easily for digest

in yolk , it has BIOTIN ,coenzyme required in several carboxylation reaction.Biotin isinvolved in certain steps of fatty acid ,non essential amino acid and purine synthesis.

(from this reason u you will know it has no effect to making hair loss)

in raw egg white has avidin ,which binds Biotin and makes it unvailable..(that's why dont feed raw egg)

My dog also eats eggs, fried and boiled. As for the dog farts, I won't allow any dogs in the house since they easily get fleas and ticks here.

My dog had a flatulence problem as well after eating eggs. He would walk into a room, fart, and then turn around and leave!!! Leaving the rest of us gagging - he was pretty intelligent!! And he weighed 60 kilos!!

our yard dogs get the unhatched chick eggs that didnt hatch (the ones that thais like to eat also)....
