Understand that the deep bass sounds emanating from Bangrak until 3 AM and later

Don't think the club is going to disappear because the owner is on holiday.

Don't know why so many people have a problem with him

I have met him a few times and he had always been polite and respectful

Unlike allot f these drunk alcoholic forangs that hang outside 7/11

He does not show off. The news paper paint a picture to hype on tension making him look as if he is showing off who he is and what he has been accused of but he has never mentioned his business to me and I never asked

The papers can pick anyone from anywhere and make them look bad

Shame on people that read allot into these stories

Everyone likes a good read but remember no one is immune from the journos

I wonder how many people on here have been arrested before

Remember if you have ever been charged for theft or for drug dealing then the sentence is pretty much the same be a small amount or a huge amount

Just some people are more clever

As far as I know he is in the clear

Just police shaking him down

One news paper reported that he was questioned over a murder

Being questioned and charged are 2 different things if a newspaper prints this rubbish then he should she for assination of character

Surely paper can only print facts but it the fact have been twisted to make a character look bad an excite the police then this should not be allowed

I know for a fact that newspapers lie

Allot !

I know from friends who have been in papers and the news stories print absolute rubbish

For example a friend of mine back in England was falsely accused of rape

He had his house raided and was subjected to media attention and police intimidation

I know he was innocent as the woman picked him out in the crowd picked the wrong person

Later they caught the right person but my friend had a break down due to it

And has not recovered to this day!

I don't disagree with you, innocent until proved guilty and all that,

However, the post is about the regular disturbance your friend's club is causing throughout the night!

If, in any small way his "disappearance" means that the bloody noise may stop, then I don't think that he will get any sympathy vote from

the residents. biggrin.png

He is not my friend i barely know him.

As for the club closing there are many partners so sorry but the venue shall stay.

As for smaller businesses can you tell me which ones are effected as there are not many houses for rent in that area. A few big villas and bars and restaurants, A massage shop opposite

I have not heard anyone complain but maybe i am wrong.

also there a quite allot of customers so where there might be some people un happy there are allot that are happy and there are all of of staff employed.

I am sorry but i cannot see much harm in the business at least it is on the beach in a pretty much isolated area. not in the mountains near residential properties.

I wouldnt have anything against him in person, but what kind of person is that who decides to disturb so many people and businesses, so its hard to find sympathy for someone like that.

Actually the area from Bangrak Beach inland is one of the highest density areas in Samui. Just check on Google Maps. Not only a few villas but thousands of locals living there. I can tell them you many of them feel very disturbed. Its really extremely loud (my ceiling is shaking) , its not like a local bar around the corner, also because the building is higher than anything else oround there the sound travels very far.

There are surely more people who feel disturbed than being happy by going there to party. Most of the nights the place is just empty, during the week there are often zero customers. Even the noisy saturdays there are often only 10 or 20 people. Lotsa noise for nothing. So with that little turnover the place has no chance to survive if there is not coming any money from outside.

I can understand there are more busines partners involved, I just wonder how they can afford to keep it running if there is not any "side business" going on.

I think you've hit the nail on the head,"wonder how theh can afford to keep it running .........."

Being an international brand you'd have to assume they've planned for a certain amount of losses in the first x amount of months as they establish themselves in Samui, after that they'd expect to start turning a profit. If that fails to happen they may well decide to pull the pin and cut their losses.

If their numbers are as slow as what you've suggested at this time of year then they would surely drop as the high season turns to low, you can't imagine the establishment could survive with such low patronage.

A 52-year-old man arrested by National Crime Agency officers after being deported from Thailand has been charged with obtaining property by deception.

Walter Douglas, who is originally from Scotland but had been living on the island of Koh Samui, had his visa revoked as part of an investigation by the Thai authorities and was put on a flight to the United Kingdom.

Douglas was greeted by NCA officers when he arrived at Heathrow Airport on Thursday morning.

The charge relates to a fraudulently obtained genuine passport that was recovered by the Spanish National Police during raids in Ibiza in 2006.

Douglas was remanded in custody following a hearing at Birmingham Magistrates Court today. He will next appear at Birmingham Crown Court on 21 February.

So, no-one is blaming this loud music on Koh Phangan parties anymore? I'm pleased to see progress here.

It's lovely & quiet in Baan Tai, Koh Phangan , tonight.

Very interesting Wikipedia page regarding this gent, if any of it is even remotely half true there's possibly some deep pockets there and running at a loss should not be a problem. Loud music may well continue for a long time to come.

I feel quite sorry for this chap......1st he and his asscosiates have poured money hand over fist to try and bring a top quality venue to Bangrak and Koh Samui,

Granted it's been a bit of a nightmare regards noise for the local residents but, does anyone believe he spent his money with the intention of establishing a quality business or was his intention to just annoy the nearby residents ?

Regards the local residence that are quite wrongfully being disturbed, how many have called into Dreamers and asked to speak to him or his management team and expressed their legitimate concerns ? I'm quite sure with a personal approach and reasonable arguement,

it's my beleif that the speaker system could be turned to face the sea and possibly reduce the noise disturbance to local homes and Business's.

Having been subject to wrongful accusations from the British police myself, I understand that if you keep throwing mud at a wall, eventually a bit will stick,

it will also be carried around with you for a lifetime, unfair, but sadly it's true !

Newspapers do not sell editions with facts, they sell them with sensationalism and scandalism, and under such situations they best not let the truth get in the way of a good storyline.

There is no doubt in my mind that this fella is a bit of a character, I know plenty of people I call friends that fly close to the edge, and the vast Majority are good honest hardworking people I would trust and respect.

It would be interesting for someone local (who is in the disturbance zone) phoning making an appointment and asking for some action from Dreamers regards the BOOM BOOM noises and come back here with their reply.

Any takers ?

Post 18 says already they had complained, this has been going on for a long time but maybe you don't live here. As for mud sticking maybe should use a bigger bucketful.

Put that club at the right location in Chaweng where the crowds are and it would be a lot busier. Anyhow I wonder what group of people they would like to target, I mean considering the style and prices they want to be kind of upmarket, but how many people with money go out to party all night? The people who like dancing until the morning to techno music are probably all in their twenties, most of them wont have lotsa cash on hand.

Considering that and the rental contract (what I have heard 10 years, only 8 of that left) its hard to believe they planed to earn honest money with it.

If their plan wasnt anyhow to earn legal money I wonder why they dont just run it as a daytime beach club/bar (afaik thats actually what they told the land owner when they leased the land), probably very few people would have something against that and they could easily keep going with their real business. (not want to say I support or agree with any illegal activities)

The rumors that I have herd about him have all been from the press

Some true I suspect some twisted

I never asked him never cared

If he is a gangster and the real deal then from what i gather these people only make problems with there own kind

If he is lucky and skill full enough to capitalise on his life then good luck to him

As for how much is true he British police shall drag everything they can on the man from un paid parking tickets to anything just to justify the expense that has gone into arresting him

As for local residence I know that with the right approach if persuaded there were plans to put sound proof walls in

I know the builder did have it in the plans

As regards to planning permission I don't know as I am not a lawyer

Maybe if he can pull himself back out here he should keep a lower profile and fly under the radar as from history media attention is bad for business for that type of business

People talk bad about the stuff they have read about him then some of those people might say that the best films of all time are good fellas or casino

Or even still films based on true stories like Chopper

Then when there is one of these style of people in our door step everyone likes to act the hard man behind a computer screen

Anyway don't really know where this is going. What is done is done and what shall be shall be
