February 6, 201412 yr From the Kasikorn website (http://www.kasikornbank.com/EN/Personal/BankAccounts/Fixed/Pages/HappySeniorFixedDeposit.aspx):Required documents for account opening A copy of national ID card or other card with a photo issued by competent government authorities A copy of house registration certificate No mention of a work permit there. Try printing off the page and showing to them. It's an approach that's worked for me in the past in similar circumstances. (The Thai version of the page is at http://www.kasikornbank.com/TH/Personal/BankAccounts/Fixed/Pages/HappySeniorFixedDeposit.aspx ) I have one Happy Senior Av and they did not ask for any work-permit. What they did ask for was a Tax account number, which I got from Ampoe.
February 9, 201412 yr Author I emailed them back and said I would put my 10 million in another bank, they of course replied and said no problem after all with the account, pity I don't have that much though, so it's just about the negotiating.

Hardly an example of negotiating deal boy....but a perfect example of money talks, bullsh*t walks....
