. I know us Aussies would win hands down. Brits running in second place. Yanks aren't up there. Good thing is you can't hear all the profanity from the Aussies if there is a yank in the bar talking

The most obnoxious I have come across are the old Brits playing the old colonial and for some reason Thailand has plenty of them, the loudest have got to be the colonial cousins from the other side of the pond

England didn't come into existence until 927 AD.

Yes, both American's security interests AND world peace would be in MUCH better shape if we simply accepted a few thousand deaths of our citizens each year as the price to pay for "freedom".

Used normal police and traditional (LIMITED) military-intelligence powers to (truly) defend our interests.

Rather than being in a constant (forever) state of war against an enemy who simply becomes stronger the more we try to attack them.

Rather than losing what little credibility we had in the world as a nation of principles and ideals, sanctioning torture, dropping bombs anywhere we like around the world to assassinate without trial, spying on all communications worldwide and our own citizens.

Rather than throwing out the baby with the bath water, sacrificing those principles of true freedom giving a corrupt government-as-lackey of the military-industrial complex extraordinary powers over its citizens to the point where it may well be impossible for the people to take their constitutional power back.

We put up with hundreds of thousands of our citizens dying in exchange for the "freedom" to drive private automobiles, to drink alcohol and smoke tobacco, for the right to own guns, to avoid "over-regulation" of industry, many many more "deals with the devil" sacrifice human life.

But of course waging nonsensical wars actually MAKES money, good for "the economy", particularly the friends of those that actually run the puppet show that is our corrupt "democracy".

Bottom line is that's the only reason for the "war on terror", all the rest is a sham of brainwashing propoganda, most skillfully executed.

But let's get back to who's loudest in the bars - I agree it's the Aussies once they get a bellyful, and I guess they earned the privilege for supporting US foreign policy so nicely over the years.

The loudness itself doesn't bother me too much, but as an observastion the Amurcans win followed closely by the Russians and Norwegians equally, and third place goes to the French - not many around, but when they get going they really go for it.

It does seem that the majority of Yanks are loud, but most other nationalities seem to have more of a decibel range.

However, in terms of the loudness combined with the bullsh*t component spoken in the English language, the Amurcans win by a country mile with nobody able to qualify for second place. My biggest fear is getting seated next to one on a plane. Happened once, still having therapy for it.

Darn right we are good bullshitters. How else do you expect to get to the top of the manure pile?

We're not really bashing the US, we're just having a bit of fun with them, for the most part I think they understand this. But some do get a bit hot around the collar.

Who Called the USA for help ? From what I see they just take it upon themselves to invade foreign countries, then cry when some people from those countries have finally had enough and eventually strike back. Most Americans were completely unaware that there was a world outside of the USA up until 9/11. Then for most Americans think that world history started on this day. Americans themselves are nice people, but they are completely deluded as to what is happening in the world.

Back to the biggest mouth theme of the topic. The following is a true story.

Many years ago I was having a meal in a restaurant in my home country when a group of 4 Americans came in and sat down. They were very loud and everything was wrong and they never stopped complaining about everything. I tried to sit there minding my own business, but one of the Americans decided to interact with me.

Him: Hey Guy, what's that on your plate there, the little white ball things.

Me: Potatoes

Him: Potatoes, you call them potatoes, back in the states we grow potatoes 5 times that size.

Me: Yes, we grow them to fit the size of our mouths also.

Some truth in the Americans....we have a zest and joy for life. Europeans tend to sulk in dark corners and whisper secrets to each other. You will notice Americans dancing, drinking lively, shaking hands, and trying to enjoy more.

Just a cultural difference. Perhaps the foggy, grey days in England have a way of depressing the psyche.

It was the US, The UK and Russia who made the deal regarding East Germany etc.

I've not seen any UK flags flying in Thailand. I've only seen Thais wearing t shirts with the Union Jack. I'm a Scot anyway and would not wear it.

As for the colonial thing I agree. The UK treated many countries badly and created the whole Pakistan / India problem. We also gave them rail, roads and doctors. We did steal a few minerals and boxes of tea in return.

We leave world domination to the US now with their hunger for black gold and cheap petrol.
