Fixing up a Platinum motorbike but where to get plastics here

Yeah I know its a pretty crappy bike but we got it cheap (Probably for good reason) Its a PX175 which apparently is a 200cc engine...go figure. Well the engine is ok but the plastics arent very flexible, that is they tend to break very easily.

There use to be a few dealerships about but they seem to have all disappeared. Normal thing....when you aint really interested they are everywhere but when you need them, they vanish! Murphys law?

Tried a shop down the train station road, past the station itself but on the same side. Boss man spoke reasonable English but said go to their showroom further along before the square and turn left. Didnt know where this square was but took just about every left possible. No joy so I got out of Dodge before the traffic drove me nuts.

Im trying to get this bike done up for the GF, so any advise will be great....and yeah I know, perhaps I should just ditch this bike.

Cheers

If the bike runs well, but the plastics are bad, try using them as a mold and have a fibreglass shop make copies.

Easy to fix if broken, easy to paint. Cheap.

Good idea and I may look into that esp for the side covers. As for the stupid tank cover I may try and find a similar size tank that has the 'wing things' screwed onto the tank versus this complete cover which is held on with grommets and a heavy wire cage thing.

Swap em over with the display bike in Big C when no-one's looking. Nobody will notice the difference? giggle.gif

I would tend to agree with you but this bike is old model.... 2006 I think. You never know, they probably still have that model in Big C. Maybe if I leave behind a lump of shit it would be a better deal...for them anyways! laugh.png
