doontp
Can anyone recommend a good kidney doctor (nephrologist) in the BKK area? one with good English speaking skills. I would like to get a second opinion. A blood test indicated a creatinine level of 1.8 - This was prior to a cat scan. I had a level of 3.4 three days after a cat scan revealed a kidney disease. the doctor thinks the chemical that was injected into me just prior to the cat scan is most likely the reason for the higher number. These tests were conducted at an international hospital in BKK. The doctor wants me to go in again next week for another blood test. I would like to go to a different hospital, if possible. Sheryl
Which is the hospital you do not want to go to? (So that I can avoid referring you to a doctor there) Any prior history of kidney disease?
doontp
Which is the hospital you do not want to go to? (So that I can avoid referring you to a doctor there) Any prior history of kidney disease? I went to Vichaivej International Hospital in Omnoi, Bkk. My mom's little brother, who is in his early 60's, has kidney disease. He has a dialysis machine in his home and has to use it regularly. He was diagnosed about 2 yrs ago. I mother was never diagnosed with it. She passed away at a young age. My dad nor anyone on his side has a history.
Sheryl
I suggest one of these doctors at the Bangkok Hospital Kidney center: http://www.bangkokhospital.com/index.php?p=doctor_profile&DrID=328 US-trained and US Board certified http://www.bangkokhospital.com/index.php?p=doctor_profile&DrID=421 US-trained (Yale) http://www.bangkokhospital.com/index.php?p=doctor_profile&DrID=1027 US trained The contrast material used in the CT scan undoubtedly does account for the rise in your creatnine level, but the baseline was already on the high side and you mention that the scan reveled some type of kidney disease. Good luck.
Lefty
I am in Houston and also have a creatinine level of 1.8, doctors here do not use contrast dye when I did MRI and Cat Scan. Picture not quit as good as with dye but satisfactory. Lefty
