Hi,

I work contract jobs for the oil industry, so I am only employed part of the year - but make enough when I work to support myself during my time off. I've grown to love Thailand and wish to spend my time off here. I'm currently living with a friend in the North. For the record, I am a US citizen and in my mid-30s.

I'd like to apply for a longer stay visa than the typical 30-day permit, if for no other reason than not having to leave the country often. I have plenty of savings in the bank (in a Thai bank), and my friend's wife's company is willing to write me a letter supporting my visa application, though i would not be doing any work while in LOS. (The company is a handicrafts factory and whosaler and employs at least 20 people, all Thais).

If I show up at the Thai Consulate in Houston, Texas with:

a) Application letter for non-immigrant B visa

B) Letter from the company, based on the template at http://www.thaivisa.com/332.0.html

c) Bank Passbook, if necessary

Are my chances good for getting the visa? My friend uses this consulate, but he obivously has a different visa situation than I do. Is there anything else I should include to improve my chances for getting the visa?

Thanks!!!
