Your plan will a last for a while but when a foreigner dies in Thailand eventually the Thai government will notify the US Embassy of your death. Then the Embassy will the start to process to determine if the deceased was receiving federal benefits (SSA, Federal retirment, VA etc). Through the State department the appropriate federal agency will be notified. This process might take a while but eventually SSA will find out if a reciepeint has died in a foreign country. -
