Phuket blood donation drive starts tomorrow

PHUKET: -- The Phuket Blood Centre, which recently admitted it had run out of all blood types, will launch a drive for donations tomorrow (February 11).

The schedule for donations is as follows:

February 11, 10.00-15.00, at Phuket Labour Court, Damrong Rd, Phuket Town.

February 12, 12.00-16.00, at Homepro Village, Chalong.

February 17, 10.00-16.00, Robinson Ocean Phuket Shopping Mall.

February 18, 10.00-14.00 at Satree Phuket School, Thungka Rd, Phuket Town.

February 19, 10.00-15.00 at Honda Showroom, Chaofa West Rd.

February 20, 13.00-16.00 at Regent Phuket Cape Panwa Resort.

February 21, 13.00-16.00 at Mercure Phuket Deevana, Patong.

February 24, 10.00-15.00 at Phuket Provincial Hospital, Outpatients Dept, Anuphas Phuketkarn Rd, Phuket Town.

February 25, 10.00-15.00 at Cherng Talay OrBorTor offices.

February 26, 13.00-16.00 hrs at Patong Hospital and Kalima Resort & Spa.

February 27, 12.00-18.00 hrs at Central Festival Phuket.

Donors should weigh at least 45kg, and be between 17 and 60 years old. They must be healthy, without sexually transmissible diseases, nor taking medication or drugs of any kind.

Women currently having their time of the month or who are pregnant or have delivered a baby or miscarried in the past six months are ineligible to donate.

Donors are advised to get at least six hours’ sleep the night before giving blood.
