wym
Maybe the need to have bank accounts on both ends? Also takes several days to clear, probably more to India. Edited February 12, 2014 by wym
Satcommlee
Western Union is a US company that can dream up all sorts of restrictions to suit America's Foreign Policy! There are alternatives ie: moneygram.. But Maybe just trying another agent on a different day may get you the result you want!
jbaldwin
Check the Thailand website for Western Union. It is adverting special promotional rate for 8 countries including India. I do not believe that it is true that WU transfers from Thailand to India are not possible.

wym
As long as their receiving location and name, in their passport or other acceptable ID matches the recipient info AND they can quote the sender's name and sending location, they should be able to claim the funds without the tracking number. If not, simple enough for the sender to get the proper tracking number from the WU paperwork and send it on.
