The night Bazaar location only has small Pizza as they have a small oven.

They do have a menu that is similar to the one Dukes had on the river before he opened the Promenada.

Needless to say because of the difference in rent the prices are higher in the Night Bazaar. But as always the health standards are top notch.

Can not reveal my source but I do know for a fact that Dave does not buy the cheapest food. He is a stickler for quality. He says your taste might not notice it but your body will.wai.gif

I have not ever actually eaten there, but I don't think that most of it is fusion. I get the impression that it is kind of gourmet style Thai food with royal recipes and such. I just don't like Thai food enough to pay more than noodle shop prices for it.

Considering that the regular customers at The Duke's are typically about 15 kg overweight, I'm not sure that "your taste might not notice it but your body will" is a very good slogan.

I think of it as "tourist Thai" more than as "fusion". I find it to be a good place to take Western visitors who say that they like Thai food back home but don't have much experience with Thai food in Thailand.

When it comes to Dukes, his fare may be tasty, but is that why you are in Thailand? Or are you here to pick something familiar off the shelves of Rimping or Tops. Or to have malls to stroll around in?

All just like back home, so why are you here?

I take it you squat over a hole, only watch Thai TV and only speak Thai? But wait, you admitted to cooking burgers so you don't only eat Thai food, so why are YOU here?

This person is trolling to get your heckles up, guys, due to likely having no friends or any outlet of fun. Suggest not falling for it and/or hit 'ignore'.

In the same building as McDonalds. Also a subway in there.

As I said in an earlier post it has the older menu that he had at the River Side venue.

That one is right across the river from where the Porn Ping is. It has the same menu as the Promenada.

As for the River Market not sure how you can call a four cheese sausage chicken lasagna Thai fusion. It is an interesting menu. There are items on it I wouldn't eat if they were pure Thai or pure western. Worth a look as there is a section for Western food and the venue is really nice. Can't understand how any one could knock the whole menu if they haven't been there. Admit it can be a pricey place compared to some of the other restaurants but the dish will be a better one.

As for your body recognizing the quality of the food. Easy to answer. It is so good tasting you eat more of it than you should. You I presume were speaking of people who only eat there.tongue.png

If that were true I'd still be only 90kg 555 Regular customers of The Dukes are Thai's as well as us Expats and any fatties are more likely to be spotted at Macca's or KFC.

I see, so gluttony is good for the body. If the owner of the place looked like Jack Lalanne it might be good advertising to claim that the body can tell that the ingredients are good, but even if that were the case it's a bit absurd to say that "the body can tell the difference" when you specialize in selling high calorie high cholesterol food to the sedentary.

You guys could argue over the weather. Obviously, Duke's claim is that the food is fresh and hygienic. Would you have preferred him to say " it won't give you the shits" ? The 'sedentary' comment at least shows us where you're coming from, so thanks for including that.

No argument here. I don't believe that looking like a mussel head is a sign of good health. Some people are just plain shallow. Also eating quality food now and then doesn't mean you are in good health. Makes no difference your body will still recognize it even if you only eat it once a year. Some people like to go to extremes. They are unable through one reason or another to see any thing between black and white.

Myself I should eat more of it and less of the crap I do eat. My body will notice the difference and I don't give a hoot what people think is good health. My doctor assures me I am in good health I just weigh to much. That does not come from eating all high quality food.

My goodness! Such vitriol!!

I had to search to find the original post. It is #11, last February!

Unfortunately, some of the more eloquent parts were left out in the quote! It really wasn't so much about Dave, who is a good guy --- as well, certainly, as appreciated (?) by local cardiologists!

Now I shall return to my cave in the Land of Trolls where Dave Austin suggests I must live !

Cheers, all!

Nothing personal Mapguy but if that is all you think is here in Thailand why are you here. I like to do those things but spend very little time at it. Most of my time at the Malls is to see a movie and shop a little bit. Much more to Thailand than what your post would have us believe..

Was at Promenada a few weeks ago on a Tuesday night, which is probably a slow night at most malls. Very few customers around at any store, with one exception - The Dukes. It wasn't 'busy' but between 1/3 and 1/2 of the tables were occupied, which made it easily the busiest place in the mall.
