Need CBR tank fixed & spray painted...Pattaya.

Hello all.

Can someone recommend a shop who can re-do the dented gas tank on my CBR 150?

A shop with passable English speaking manager would be nice.

i think a new one is less than 5k baht

Okay, I found a car body shop called Mongkol Jaroenyont Garage,

on Sukumvit on the east side a bit (300m?) south of Klang who at first said no,

but then she relented and said ok 3000baht,

but low priority after cars.

I'll report on outcome after.

If the only difference is 2000 baht I would go new. The repair will never be as good as the new on a tank. If it was a sidecover no problem , but a tank is going to absorb a lot of vibration through the frame & if the dent is seriously more than 1/16th of an inch you are just pissing in the wind. It will fail.So......3000 now & 5000 next season or 5000 baht now are your only choices that make sense.

that is why they said 3000 thb. just get a new one then.

It may even be cheaper than 5k . Check the price first!

I'm gonna go with Beardog and ll2 here.

New tank 4K; spray ~1000.

So I'll spring for the extra 2K, not so much because of fear that the repair would fail,

rather I noticed some rust inside the old tank, and who needs problems with that!
