Air Asia online credit card issues

Featured Replies

Hi all.

I have tried in the last couple of days to book an Air Asia flight from Chiang Mai to KL online. I was using the same MasterCard that I have used in the past to book there. The first time I tried, it went through the process and came back with the message that the transaction was declined. I called the card issuer and checked and they did not show the transaction at all and that they had not declined anything. Thinking it might just be a technical issue, I went back and tried it with the same result. A day later, I got an email from AA asking me if some technical issue had prevented me from completing the booking and that they had saved my information in case I wanted to complete it. I used the link they provided and inserted the same card information, again with the same result.

Since it isn't my card issuer doing the decline I assume it is something happening at the AA end. Am I the only one having issues like this?

Air Asia is a low class server. Their web site is very user un-friendly. It looks like a bunch of idiots made it. They have done nothing to improve it in the past 3 years. The BS you have to go through takes about 1 hour and any mistakes are not easy corrected. Try another airline.

I had to contact my credit card company and said I wanted Air Asia to use my credit card. Then it went thru.

No, I have often had similar problems, using my (issued in the UK) MasterCard with Air Asia's website. sad.png

You'd think they would want to make it easier, to take your money off you, but no.

Did the problem resolve itself or did you have to do something to get the card to work?

Thanks

David

Try using the Internet Explorer browser if you are using Firefox. I had problems with making a 7-11 cash payment and was advised by Airasia to try IE. It worked.
