February 22, 201412 yr Hello, so it is the first time i will buy a new car here in thailand, i am not sure about the payment. I made a small deposit in cash when i ordered the car. What will be the best way to pay the rest when the car arrive at the dealer shop. Payng in cash and exchange money for car. Or paying by bank transfer? I have a bank account in thailand. Thank you Alex
February 22, 201412 yr Most dealers will want a bank draft. Best you ask them how they want to be paid...
February 22, 201412 yr get a cashier check about the left balance from you bank - cost 20 THB is as good as cash
February 23, 201412 yr get a cashier check about the left balance from you bank - cost 20 THB is as good as cash Small correction - a Bank Draft and a Cashiers Check is only almost as good as cash - neither can be used at a 7/11 for example OP: Ask your dealer how they want payment.. If you turn up with a Check, they may ask you to go back and get a Draft, or vice-versa...
February 23, 201412 yr When I bought my car the dealer wouldn't take a draft or a cashier's cheque. It was a bank transfer or cash only.
February 23, 201412 yr I asked my dealer if a cashier's check was fine and he said yes. Handed it over and drove the car out that day.
February 23, 201412 yr Author ok, i will check with the dealer wether he accept also a cashier´s check. Thank you for support. Alex
July 30, 201412 yr It seems that someone who receive a cashier cheque has to pay a fee ? (and the one who give the money also has to pay 20 baht)
