Gil
Typical for the Thaksinists to refuse open talks because they will loose face as finally even the most illiterate farmer will know that the only thing they did since in power is cheating and lying. Challenge to the Red Shirt supporters: tell me 3 good things this government did during the last 3 years! 1 lie, 2 seduce, 3 plunder. Good enough!
gemini81
The language of an hypocritical puppet : "If the protest leader’s demands were beyond her constitutional power, the premier said a team of experts must also be present in order to help suggest useful ideas for the benefit of the whole country." This is in fact exactly what Suthep wanted to demonstrate in asking for a TV debate. Never before has the world seen such cowardice and total lack of responsibility of a so called leader. This woman isn't capable of managing a frickin' ant farm. The negligence and complete ineptitude is enough reason to remove her by force, with regards to the economy, prosperity, reputation and all aspects of the country. As the locals describe as 'heavy on the soil' or 'useless to one's country' she will go down in history as the biggest example of poor leadership and what NOT to do, head down, tails between legs on the Wall of Shame. Challenge to the Red Shirt supporters: tell me 3 good things this government did during the last 3 years! How about the increase of the minimum wage from 100baht to 300baht, tax cuts for everyone that came into effect in December 2013 and a public medical plan that covers all citizens. Too much off-topic to elaborate (and no real need anyway as it's been done to death already), but you managed to get all three wrong. . . Davidhere
Looks to me like Thailand isn't divided at all. Central World from last night. Do you have another shot of it burning to the ground? .
moonao
The fact is she has shown more responsibility, maturity, and leadership than Suthep and all his pathetic followers put together. Its funny to see all these so called "educated" farangs frothing at the mouth over Yingluck (revealing far more about the quality of their cowardly, cheap shot character than anything else). Yingluck knows that arguing with Suthep would be like arguing with an idiot. He would only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience. Suthep is not interested in meaningful talks anyway - he just wants to be a boof-head and a cowardly woman bashing bully to her - just like some ThaiVisa posters here!
Davidhere
If he actually wanted to end the conflict, the meetings should be private. So both sides can spend the next six months disputing non-stop what they and the other side said. Put in on live nation-wide television thus eliminate the above needless nonsense; remove all secrecy and increase the transparency that Yingluck is always harping about, but never following through with. . You're full of it- he is out on the roads, risk of getting bumped off, the other is in remote hiding in Chiang Rai, never shows up to meetings, cries, can't answer questions...and he speaks daily in front of crowds, challenges her to a debate...you're completely wrong putting it on him. To say woman bashing is as ludicrous- she is supposed to be a leader, and that she is not- you can't project it on him. This woman never once even bothered to show up for a rice scheme meeting. (when out of defensive remarks, no need to resort to the overused 'sexist' 'racist' 'womanizer' cop outs). Instead, tell us what she has done so accomplished, responsible and so superior as a leader that shows more balls than a man out on the streets leading a demonstration. Interesting to hear what you have.... Edited February 28, 2014 by gemini81
