Let's see where the Red shirt apologists are now.

Red Shirts have a long history of violence, intimidation and Arson. PDRC have a history of blowing whistles, and having picnics.

As for theme having armed guards around their demos, it's no wonder, otherwise they are sitting targets for being attacked.

Red Shirts and Khmer Rouge, doesn't appear to be a lot of difference.

There is no evidence to support that the bomb was planted by a "redshirt". it could just as easily been planted by a PDRC sympathizer. It is interesting that the bomb did not detonate.

In respect to your claim that there isn't a lot of difference between the Redshirts and the Khmer Rouge, I draw your attention to the strong link between the Thai military junta and military during the Khmer Rouge period. The Khmer Rouge was able to keep going because of its open trade along the Thai border. It was a lucrative business for the authorities responsible for the Thai Cambodia border. It was Thailand that turned back the Cambodian refugees who then perished at the hands of the Khmer Rouge and it was Thailand that would not support the Cambodian groups who fought the Khmer Rouge. Vietnam was the country that liberated the Cambodian people, while Thailand's robust military smirked at the plight of the people it has conveniently used as a scapegoat over the years. Can you name one Thai member of its successive military dictatorships, or one Thai military supreme commander who spoke out against the Khmer Rouge?

How come no one thought of a a thing that all these bombings could be coming from the same source but not the one so obvious. Why would Pojaman hire someone to throw a makeshift bomb into a house of a whistle blower ? Instead a whistle blower could fake a bomb being thrown at his house he gains people's attention and sympathy. .. what can she gain from it????

None is so blind as he who refuses to see. And there are plenty on the Thaksin Vengence forum that refuse to see the obvious. This was a very crude publicity stunt. The guy is milking his 15 minutes of fame for all he can get out of it.

Or as most other countries (except Montenegro, Zimbabwe or Nicaragua) might say, once it has been established, the Shun state ? rolleyes.gif

Sorry.... own goal..... He's the GM of the Bangkok Football Club ..big bucks Dem.. Don't believe most of what is in the [O]press these days... very little confirmation of facts... just take hearsay and publish it...generates revenue and ill feelings and discontent...but that's the plan right...? keep the needle in the arm of the masses... polarize , divide.....and spend enough time doing it so they don't even recall the original reasons...then change the rules...change the position .. attempt an end run... fake this fake that Bollywood couldn't come up with a better plot for a soap..but at least they would have dancing... so sorry for the Thai people being manipulated like this everybody needs a time out!

GK, I am not disputing that there were strong links between KR and Thai military, it was a lucrative business - . My suggestion, is that there are some quite similar parallels in the rhetoric and potentially the aims of the Red Shirt movement. Suporn Attawong statement yesterday, about recruiting 600,000 men. I think you know where you can go and find that link. I am very familiar with the history of the KR and Thailands part, but I also note that Thaksin and Hun Sen are very closely linked as well. The acts of the KR were deplorable, although at the time using the poor to facilitate an uprising and empower farmers seemed like a good idea. It didn't really work out that way, but things like Red Schools, Red Villages, Re-education, recruitment of young men to be trained tactically has a certain twist to it. Throw in Weng and Thida, known communist sympathisers and then it starts to get more interesting.

My own opinion is, that both sides use people to line their own pockets and sadly it is going ot get worse here, before it gets better.

I won't bother replying to the other comment as we were not discussing Rohingya.

Ok, I'm just going to beat the living crap out of our security guards here at work, and then later I'll bomb their accommodation block.

You can never be too careful, can you ? rolleyes.gif

Just a random thought, when blowing his whistle, did he handed over his business card as well? Seems obvious, the way they found him so fast!!!

I'm still loosing my way all the time in Bangkok, let alone found a house of someone who plays an instrument for his hobby

A new member who has obviously not read our forum rules is now on a posting holiday. Several posts were removed (along with associated replies) that violated these rules:

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/701310-rumours-and-rumour-mongering-a-warning/

In using Thai Visa I agree:

1) To respect fellow members.

4) Not to flame fellow members.Flaming will not be tolerated. 'Flaming' is defined as posting or responding to a message in a way clearly intended to incite useless arguments, to launch personal attacks, to insult, or to be hateful towards other members. This includes useless criticism, name-calling, swearing and any other comments meant to incite anger.

5) Not to post inflammatory messages on the forum, or attempt to disrupt discussions to upset its participants, or trolling.Trolling can be defined as the act of purposefully antagonizing other people on the internet by posting controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant or off-topic messages with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion.

I am against violence on EITHER side but I feel blowing a whistle in someones face while shopping is also violent, nasty and aggressive

let's all stand together, at least on this issue, violence is WRONG and that includes shouting, whistle blowing at the lower end and bombs and shootings at the higher end

condemn it ALL

OK..... Now I KNOW the world has gone crazy...I'm agreeing with binjalin. tongue.png

..........Not only that, but his post is the most sensible out of all in this thread (and many other threads too). We can jibe at each others' politics, knock the leading figures... but EVERYONE should be putting likes on this (his) thread. EVERYONE should be condemning violence, not making crass allegations and accusations, as we see certain posters do time after time with monotonous regularity.

VIOLENCE IS WRONG..... THREATS OF VIOLENCE ARE WRONG...... IT DOES NOT MATTER WHICH SIDE STARTED IT.... Come on people, stop acting like rugrats in the school playground and stand up against the one thing we should all be able to agree on.

Some posters on the forum are writing posts that can only lead me to one conclusion.....they are stupid. There is no right in shooting at people or firing M79 grenades. And the first life lost was one to many. But I doubt if you even care.

Red Shirts and Khmer Rouge, doesn't appear to be a lot of difference.

I've often warned my friends of what just might be on "the other side" of the Shins. Tida, the UDD, and Red militancy is it. And you're spot on right about the real possibility of these dark forces leading Thailand into a Khmer Rouge type Dark Age.

And don't forget that much of the support for the Khmer Rouge was directed by the United States and Mr. "Human Rights" Jimmy Carter and his UN rep, Andy Young.

Pipe bomb for couple who blew whistles at Pojaman

Pipe bomb//Photo : Nataphol FB

BANGKOK: -- A pipe bomb was thrown into house of a rally leader who blew at whistle at the formerwife of fugitive expremier Thaksin Shinawatra in Klong Toey district early this morning. The bomb however was a dud and failed to explode.

Police were alerted to the attack at 2.20a when explosives in a blue PVC pipe were found at the house of Nataphol and Taya Teepsuwan in Sukhumvit Soi 18.

Security guards said a motorcycle has been spotted near the house at 12.30am but they could not see face of the driver or the vehicle's registration plates.

The guards added that the driver then drove the vehicle to the front of the gate and threw the explosive. Police believe the attacker intended to intimidate rather than cause injury.

The couple was among a group of antigovernment protesters who blew the whistles at Khunying Pojaman Na Pombejra while she was shopping at The Emporium shopping complex on February 26. Videos of the incident went viral on YouTube, with some of them blocked minutes after they were posted.

On Friday, Nataphol wrote about the incident on his Facebook page, saying "as expected, a pipe bomb was thrown into my house. Luckily, it was a dud. The attack is likely to be resulted of the whistle blowing. Despite this, we will not back off. We are different from you and your boss and there will be no violence from our side for sure," he said.

How would you feel if you were on a bus and someone shouted at you and wouldn't stop. Same same. That is assault. PERIOD!

Blowing a whistle at someone at close range is ASSAULT PERIOD if you attack people be it with a whistle or anything else expect to be attacked back

Really ?? What kind of assault? Physical or emotional?

I guess the next time lolly pop man blows his whistle , I should knock him out and cut him up in pieces .

Good to see the red supporters are as intelligent as the reds, but then again I guess to be reds supporter one has to be alike

Again, what assault ?? If you so damn sensitive stay indoors.

Cars use horns, dogs bark, sellers scream out and so on, most certainly not a reason to blow them up

DiamondKing,

if blowing a whistle at someone close range is consider ASSAULT. I will need to borrow your bomb and throw at the police officers.

Sometimes they are whistling dam_n loud right infront of our faces while at the traffic stop.

"Did not explode" says it all. dodgy written all over it. These yellow shirts are the dirty tactic experts. I'm willing to bet he planted the bomb himself to gain sympathy.

Interesting theory but why stop there? I am willing to bet that the people who blew the whistle on Mr.T's wife were in fact reds in disguise. Same goes for PDRC , reds undercover again otherwise where are the millions of them that supposed to be at the war-drum rallies. Its all part of a grand plan to expose the evil "elites".

Actually I don't believe there is any doubt he was the whistle blower in the video as he believes that is why the pvc was thrown into and then at his house..( conflicting versions of in or at in 2 different media) but in both reports and the video it appears it was him... and I believe the woman in the white cap also blowing whistles is his wife I cannot say for sure but sure looks like it from the pics I had pulled up... might be a good idea to review...

I am not allowed to post links to BK Post so do your own research there... His wife ( the whistle blower admits to all of it... search this article Potjaman Harassed By Whistler Blowers...

In the video, Khunying Potjaman is seen being harassed by a group of protesters led by Nattapol and Thaya Theepsuwan, co-leaders of the People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC), at the Emporium department store.

Where are our Thai rouge fan club members to chat up a framing and conspiracy on this one? Guess they're scratching their heads how to reinvent this story that speaks for itself.

Whom ever is responsible in this case it was a stupid act even though it didn't detonate... love to see the fingerprints on the pvc...Not sure anyone would condone blowing whistles at close range at an older woman shopping either.... unless you can find a reason for doing so to a 59 year old ex-wife...but it seems these PDRC co leaders haven't got anything better to do...Reform plans...? Embarking on an electoral outreach...? naw more fun to run down from Thonglor and harass the old woman...Red or yellow has no bearing on that act either...equally despicable...Cheers!

Is it a bomb or just some left over plumbing parts.

The communists burned down the Reichstag if I remember my history!

Sorry to disagree but the Nazis burned down the Reichstag and blamed it on the communists.

My point exactly. Please try and keep up!

All of you that are comparing whistle blowers to security guards and people who use whistles in their jobs you obviosuly are not smart enough to see the difference of someone blowing a whistle randomly than someone IN YOUR FACE AND SPACE blowing it directly at you. Thats is Assault just like there are VERBAL ASSAULT laws where you can be arrested for screaming obcenities at someone this is no different.
