The Door Bell Entries at BKK 7-11s

Featured Replies

How do the 7-11 employees tolerate those bells that ring when you enter and exit?

DEE-DOO! DEE-DOO!

I was at a 7-11 on Soi 4 buying beer at about eleven at night and there must have been thirty customers (drunks, derelicts, tourists, hookers, bar girls, Thais, johns, and Arabs) and the bell must have rung 600 times in five minutes.

How do the employees handle that obnoxious DEE-DOO! DEE-DOO! DEE-DOO!?!?

I had to decline the smiling female cashier's offer of a free bag of chips if I purchased whatever-silly-promotional-deal-thingy they were trying to push on me. And when I left, the bell rang DEE-DOO. DEE-DOO.

Not the biggest problem in Thailand but I agree that if I worked there it would drive me up the wall.

That surprises me. I am on this regularly and surely would have noticed (or so I think!).

don't be too surprised i have seen same post at least 2 times before however i do agree must be irritating for the workers but i guess its something they attune to it may even contribute to the seemingly great number of different staffers one encounters at these storesbiggrin.png

Thanks for the laugh, what a brilliant Marlowesque description.

It's probably designed to stop them dozing off. But then again Thais can sleep under most circumstances.
