I always like to go day early just in case something unforseen happens.......like miss the bus, traffic accident, Or like your car battery failing on a wet day in a petrol garage forecourt north of Chiang Rai a couple of years ago, as happened to me. I got jump started but then had the dilemma of pushing on and knowing that I would have to hope it started again after the border crossing. It did. Just.
