Funds will be provided for the promotion of good health and sufficiency economy in rural villages

The National Health Promotion Fund (NHPF) will provide financial support for rural villages to promote good health of their villagers and practice His Majesty the King’s sufficiency economy philosophy.

Banlu Siripanit (บรรลุ ศิริพานิช), an NHPF executive, said the 2-year project, to be implemented to celebrate the 60th anniversary of His Majesty the King’s ascension to the throne, will provide 2 villages in each of the 75 provinces 100,000 baht annually each.

Dr. Banlu said villagers are free to design their own plans to turn their communities into health promotion and sufficiency economy villages. He said the people may opt to promote exercises, hold activities that help strengthen unity, preserve local cultures or help eliminate drugs and crime.

Application for the funds has already been opened, he added.
