PM flies to Northeast

3-4-2014-9-47-40-PM-wpcf_728x413.jpg

BANGKOK: -- Caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra flew to Sakhon Nakhon province this morning to begin her inspection of drought situation in the Northeast.

Accompanied by a handful of caretaker cabinet ministers, she traveled aboard an Army plane from Don Muang’s Army air transport airfield to Sakhon Nakhon airport on a two-day inspection trip of drought situation in Sakhon Nakhon and Mukdaharn provinces.

She declined to give interview this morning before departure.

Caretaker Science and Technology Minister Phiraphand Palusuk said when asked about the status of the caretaker cabinet after the 30-day deadline in caretaker role expired, that the caretaker government would remain in office until the election has finished and all MPs are elected.

He also disclosed that the caretaker prime minister has requested postponement of the date to testify the National Anti Corruption Commission on the rice-pledging scheme controversy, citing reason of a huge pile of paper document to look into.

She was summoned by the NACC to testify on March 14.

In the total of the past two and a half years she has been in office she hasn't made as many upcountry trips as she has made in the last 2 months. Strange.

Yes, eminently newsworthy, coffee1.gif

She could read those papers in the limo on the way to testifying, and afterwards on the way back.

She could read those papers on the plane to Nakon Nowhere.

It is the 6th and she can't get through a pile of paperwork by the 14th?

If:

One paper = 5 minutes reading time, 12 papers an hour,

She could read 96 papers in an 8 hour day,

864 papers in the next 9 days.

on 120 weight text stock that's 864 x 0.198 mm thickness

> So that equals 171 mm of papers in stacked height.

She's got the time if it is REALLY that pressing to do ALL the papers.

As Caretaker PM, it should be less workload than her workload as full PM,

so can we assume she has NOT been keeping up with her normal workload?

Another reason she should be removed from office; Inability to do the job adequately.

She has not legitimate excuse to NOT go to the NACC as directed.

Yes, a deliberate attempt to empty the treasury. Do you not want her to take an interest in the drought areas of Isaan? You realize that drought affects rice farmers - wasn't she being blamed not so very long ago for not caring about the rice farmers. I wish you anti's would be consistent in your bleatings............

Your a laugh a minute fab4.

"PM Yingluck flies to Isaan"

Sorry! Typo

PM Yingluck Flees to Isaan

on her own exquisite MilAirhead airlines. (tinted windows this time, so we don't see her in tears as we did in the helicopters in 2010). Flood us with tears, darling oppressor of Isarn!

Drought= No Water= No Rice for all those Suthep supporters/followers/disciplies in Bangkok. What a shame that would be ;-)

No problem, the Bangkokians can bring in cheaper rice from Vietnam..... :-)

I am amazed she is heading to Isan, since it is full of angry unpaid farmers.

I suspect she will have a lot of security, and there will not be a whole lot of

press conferences....

" ... the caretaker prime minister has requested postponement of the date to testify the National Anti Corruption Commission on the rice-pledging scheme controversy, citing reason of a huge pile of paper document to look into. "

What paper work ? She is no longer caretaker prime minister, and the people accompanying her are no longer caretaker cabinet ministers. Each and every one are now private citizens. In terms of the real paper work that Ms. Yingluck has to do now is to prepare her defense for the NACC ( which she ought to have doing for over a year now ). She has dodged the NACC at every turn. She refused to show up at their request two weeks ago. The NACC bent their own rules to give her lawyer the evidence to review yesterday, even though she had forfeited that right by failing to show up. Now, she gives this incredulous and - because of that, highly disrespectful excuse to the NACC. And now, she's back in Isaan. Well, she can stay there.

Negativity upon negativity heaped on the Prime Minister......But with such a huge disconnect....All those repetitive insinuations against her, are totally at odds with the electoral majority.....They will re-elect her in a heart-beat, with an increased majority.......So is that electoral majority all screwed up, and these minority views are correct?

To denigrate a majority electorate usually goes hand-in-hand with denial of Electoral democracy as the best, although imperfect manner, to select who governs a country.

These disparaging comments are made by those, who would also self-servingly support a nullification of the current election, completing it and tabulating it.

That said, I think that in spite of all the political noise seeking to denigrate political space in Thailand by those who are served by such vilification, The country is blessed by having an electoral majority....Can you imagine if politically the country was split 50-50......One would have another Ukraine with its' 50-50 split both Linguistically and culturally.....The battles following an inconclusive electoral 50-50 split would make the current noise pale in comparison.

If you must comment at least try to make some sense. It is not even clever sarcasm which as we all know is the lowest form of wit.

really, so if it was an auusie pm or english pm visiting their drought or flooded areas, would you say the same. The majority of people who comment here are so full of it, they sit and judge without comparing to their own countries, if you dont like the way things are done in Thailand....LEAVE

And the money wasting trips continue...

The rice scam if not read has at least been comatosed.

Having water for any other crop will be a challenge in some areas as we have already seen.

When there's nothing there for showering or drinking we will see the uprising if the great unwashed once more

Obviously a delaying tactic but standard practice for any wealthy Thai who's in legal strife here.

As always the lawyers will do all the work anyway and their client will simply say what she's told to say.... just like being PM really smile.png
