webfact
PM flies to NortheastBANGKOK: -- Caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra flew to Sakhon Nakhon province this morning to begin her inspection of drought situation in the Northeast.Accompanied by a handful of caretaker cabinet ministers, she traveled aboard an Army plane from Don Muang’s Army air transport airfield to Sakhon Nakhon airport on a two-day inspection trip of drought situation in Sakhon Nakhon and Mukdaharn provinces. She declined to give interview this morning before departure.Caretaker Science and Technology Minister Phiraphand Palusuk said when asked about the status of the caretaker cabinet after the 30-day deadline in caretaker role expired, that the caretaker government would remain in office until the election has finished and all MPs are elected. He also disclosed that the caretaker prime minister has requested postponement of the date to testify the National Anti Corruption Commission on the rice-pledging scheme controversy, citing reason of a huge pile of paper document to look into. She was summoned by the NACC to testify on March 14.Source: http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/pm-flies-northeast/ -- Thai PBS 2014-03-

Popular Post JesseFrank
In the total of the past two and a half years she has been in office she hasn't made as many upcountry trips as she has made in the last 2 months. Popular Post pmugghc
How about she spends some time looking into that "huge pile of papers" instead of photo-op trips to the north? This is just a disgraceful farce, evading responsibility for anything! Popular Post ginjag
This is normal for our P.M. "She declined to give an interview prior to departure" She wants a postponement re rice, with the NACC---reason citing a huge pile of documents to look into.---So they have found some paperwork re the scheme ??? In other words PLAY for time . Keep the wheels churning maybe we can come up with something.
Popular Post gemini81
Inspect, as in go and observe and prance around whilst doing nothing productive; flash back to the massive flooding when she went via helicopter, standing around on planks (less think than her of course) in designer boots over the heads of the locals who were neck high in water. What a complete parasite. If those 'piles' of paper were a priority, they'd be read pronto- what we have here are more excuses to delay facing the music. Boy, running from responsibility sure runs in the family. Would laugh if disgruntled farmers who got shafted from the rice scheme find the locations she's heading, and show up. You can't run forever woman- just makes your problems and lines in your Chinese face deeper.

Cute spin on the fact that she's avoiding facing the realities of a failed government and a failing country. The needs of the farmers that you raise, would be far better served if she were to draw her corrupt cronies together, kick their asses and get the farmers paid with no further delay. animatic
She could read those papers in the limo on the way to testifying, and afterwards on the way back. She could read those papers on the plane to Nakon Nowhere. It is the 6th and she can't get through a pile of paperwork by the 14th? If: One paper = 5 minutes reading time, 12 papers an hour, She could read 96 papers in an 8 hour day, 864 papers in the next 9 days. on 120 weight text stock that's 864 x 0.198 mm thickness > So that equals 171 mm of papers in stacked height. She's got the time if it is REALLY that pressing to do ALL the papers. As Caretaker PM, it should be less workload than her workload as full PM, so can we assume she has NOT been keeping up with her normal workload? Another reason she should be removed from office; Inability to do the job adequately. She has not legitimate excuse to NOT go to the NACC as directed. Scamper
" ... the caretaker prime minister has requested postponement of the date to testify the National Anti Corruption Commission on the rice-pledging scheme controversy, citing reason of a huge pile of paper document to look into. "What paper work ? She is no longer caretaker prime minister, and the people accompanying her are no longer caretaker cabinet ministers. Each and every one are now private citizens. In terms of the real paper work that Ms. Yingluck has to do now is to prepare her defense for the NACC ( which she ought to have doing for over a year now ). She has dodged the NACC at every turn. She refused to show up at their request two weeks ago. The NACC bent their own rules to give her lawyer the evidence to review yesterday, even though she had forfeited that right by failing to show up. Now, she gives this incredulous and - because of that, highly disrespectful excuse to the NACC. And now, she's back in Isaan. Well, she can stay there.
Fryslan boppe
Negativity upon negativity heaped on the Prime Minister......But with such a huge disconnect....All those repetitive insinuations against her, are totally at odds with the electoral majority.....They will re-elect her in a heart-beat, with an increased majority.......So is that electoral majority all screwed up, and these minority views are correct? To denigrate a majority electorate usually goes hand-in-hand with denial of Electoral democracy as the best, although imperfect manner, to select who governs a country. These disparaging comments are made by those, who would also self-servingly support a nullification of the current election, completing it and tabulating it. That said, I think that in spite of all the political noise seeking to denigrate political space in Thailand by those who are served by such vilification, The country is blessed by having an electoral majority....Can you imagine if politically the country was split 50-50......One would have another Ukraine with its' 50-50 split both Linguistically and culturally.....The battles following an inconclusive electoral 50-50 split would make the current noise pale in comparison. C'mon, be honest. It must get pretty uncomfortable and embarrassing trying defend this woman. Do you really think that she understands enough about water management to contribute anything on this trip? (Remember all that terrible flooding that could have been avoided if the people Thaksin appointed for her had a clue of what they were doing?) We all know that she is just dodging responsibility and buying time because she doesn't have a clue what to do about any of this stuff her brother has thrown her into.
