webfact
CMPO chief ready for talks with PDRC leaderBANGKOK, 7 March 2014 (NNT) – Center for Maintaining Peace and Order (CMPO) chief Chalerm Yubamrung says he is ready for talks with protest leader Suthep Thaugsuban to settle differences and seek solutions to the ongoing political conflict.Labor Minister and CMPO chief Chalerm Yubamrung yesterday stated that he wished to talk to Mr. Suthep in order to find a way out of the political crisis. He said he would be willing to meet with the People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) leader alone in the latter's house. The CMPO chief said his idea needed permission from neither Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra nor Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva, adding that he personally wanted this to happen in the hope of securing peace and unity for the country.Mr. Chalerm also called on Mr. Suthep to allow the election process to go on smoothly so the new government could be formed. -- NNT 2014-03-

dinom
The CMPO chief said his idea needed permission from neither Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra nor Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva. True enough, he's only taking orders from his boss Mr. T. By the way what Prime Minister, last time I checked Thailand didn't have one...

Popular Post Blackmirage2013
Talk, or have a mud fight, televised for the entertainment of the Thai people and us foreigners. Things are getting boring nowadays. My sentiments exactly... the only interesting thing so far is Chuwit filmed getting into a fight on election day. Even Yingluck putting her ballot in the wrong box was boring. Chalerm has zero credibility and can hardly put a simple subject and verb sentence together. He is the kind of guy you have to watch when he comes in your house because he'll go through your drawers and take anything valuable that is not tied down. At the very least, I'd stress Chalerm out by removing all my alcholol and just having mineral water around.... like a beaver in the Sahara. Why not have a "Battle of the elite" Chalerm vs. Suthep.... use the new Lumpini Boxing Stadium.... it is a great marketing tool.... Rudolph the Red Nosed Drunkard against the well fed Thai Gandhi. Popular Post GuestHouse
Perhaps he's had orders from his paymaster while in Singapore. We should not be surprised, the Red Shirt movement is by the day getting more difficult for PTP to control. The calls for secession are a guaranteed way to have the military step in - not for a coup but to legitimately defend the nation. And whatever we can't have anyone else looking at the books - we need the PTP to get back in power and return to their polices of shame faced lies when asked about the impacts and status of their policies. Yingluck remains on tour, dodging the whole leadership role while promising to stay in the leadership role she has never filled (or least stay until her sister is ready to take over - because the choice the Thai people have is - a Shinawatra or nothing).

Scamper
Why would Suthep wish to speak to a man who no longer holds any administrative position ? Chalerm will have much more luck of a " meeting of the minds " when he teams up with his buddy Thaksin in Singapore. To be sure, they'll agree with everything. Or more to the blunt point - Chalerm will agree to everything Thaksin says.
PepperMe
It is clear that his meeting in Singers with 'an important person'. Has spewed out yet another 'cunning plan' in which he would need some form of compromise with Suthep and the PDRC leaders to come to fruition. However, they would never agree to talk to him. They will tell him to go **** himself if they had any sense. I think the PDRC and Suthep are happy to hang on to the status quo and let the judiciary do their job for them. Then all that is needed to complete the job is for the army to declare martial law at the first hint of dissent from the red brotherhood and then crush them, and stop any repeat of the 2010 mayhem of 'destroy BKK'. A round up of everyone suspected of supporting secession, an imprisoning of the police commanders who have stood by and assisted the PTP and red shirt terrorism and a capture and imprisonment of all corrupt officials. Then we can start off reforms. Edited March 7, 2014 by PepperMe
siampolee
Or truth being, is that Chalerm is as we all know renowned as a devious self serving political pirate and he has seen which way the political wind is starting to blow and he is going into that political wind fully rigged (or perchance just three sheets to the wind) in yet another remarkable act of political piratical self preservation. maggiemae
I suppose he has to try and look relevant. Why talk to the monkey? It is the organ grinder that should be talking to Suthep.
Popular Post Baerboxer
So let's see. The head of CMPO, a former police captain, with a PhD in Law goes to Singapore and meets "a VIP" which most people interpret as Thaksin, If so, the man charged with upholding and enforcing law and order in Bangkok and certain areas under the SOE goes to Singapore and meats with a convicted criminal fugitive, who has around 15 serious charges and warrants open and received instructions. He then wants to come back and meet a man who has several outstanding arrest warrants including one for answering charges to murder and wants to speak privately with him. All this is none of the business of the caretaker PM and DM who appointed him head of CMPO. The script writers of Python, Blackadder, and Disney couldn't have come up with this between them.
Popular Post Baerboxer
I suppose he has to try and look relevant. Why talk to the monkey? It is the organ grinder that should be talking to Suthep. The organ grinder is still scared shit less to come back to Thailand. Highly unlikely Suthep would leave the safety of his minders and travel anywhere. The "deal" being hatched is seemingly such that Skype, email, telephone, sms or social media can be trusted. The choice of "envoy" is bewildering, given his propensity for blabbing when pissed, Interesting that Poo has been sent miles away while all this is going on. And there is still those on TV that believe she is the real leader.

Blackmirage2013
Actually I think Chalerm is in the closet and wants to come out really badly.... he has felt sooooo frustrated, ever since he saw Suthep strutting proudly through the crowd, shaking hands and kissing babies.... Chalerm's hormones are just raging! He can't stop thinking of Suthep, day and night... 24 hours... cant't eat, can't work, can't think [well he could never think!]..... He is just dying to plant a wet kiss on big boy Suthep's head and so anxious to be with him.... like a freshman school girl completely head over heels over football hero Suthep!!!! Come on out homecoming queen Chalerm! That explains all the insults... Chalerm insults Suthep to get his attention! This is what adolescents, who are in love, do all the time!
