How to use Thai given GPS coordinates

Featured Replies

Thanks to everybody who helped me figure out what a "Moo" meant last week. A lot of really helpful comments.

So my newest quandary is a set of GPS coordinates I was given for a fruit farm in Rayong. Here they are " 47 P 0759184 1402867." Google maps doesn't have a clue. I don't either. Any ideas?

Thanks!

I suppose you want to know where that came from smile.png

Co-ordinates are in UTM (Universal Transverse Mercator) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_Transverse_Mercator_coordinate_system

Converter here http://www.rcn.montana.edu/Resources/Converter.aspx

Ignore the letter P (it's for referencing paper maps) and select N as hemisphere, so:

Zone = 47

Hemisphere = N

Easting = 0759184

Northing = 1402867

Comes out near Rayong smile.png
