I used to live in a small village when I first came to Thailand. There was as a cute little boy that everyone loved who used to run around with no pants on. All the adults - men and women - would play with his little weanie and laugh when it got hard. I just figured it was the culture here, but it sure surprised me when I first saw it.

If it was me who witnessed that, I would of walked over and let him see that i was aware of what he was doing...

If he was doing anything untowards, he would stop it and go red faced, that would be the tell tale...

Still worrying for sure..

That already happened last week, all you know is that they guy wore a uniform. Was it a gate guard playing with his own kid?

You should have dome something when you saw that. Approaching him and asking him in any language what he was doing, then you'd have seen his reaction.

We had a gate guard at our school who always molested our girls. Took me a long time that they're actually listening to me. He's gone, no cops were involved.

An Indian guy who worked at our school being an English teacher even topped that.He was caught in a toilette with a grade five girl..

A Thai teacher reported that to the director, but he thought it was just gossip. Then almost 10 months later, he got caught on the toilet again, with the same girl.

I tried all to involve cops that this guy would get deported, but none of our superiors was interested to inform the cops, nor the girl's parents.

Same Indian guy then opened an orphanage in the same city. The girl he'd molested was a "facebook friend" of our son, so I could get details that gave me a huge headache.

I couldn't go to the cops, as nobody would have backed me up.Neither the school, nor the girl.

This is a huge problem in Thai schools in so much that the proverbial blind eye is turned for one of several reasons.

1) The school cannot afford for such reports to become public and lose face over such incidents

2) The offending official has somehow earned the sympathies of the management or has something over them in terms of information that could implicate them in a much worse offense. This could be something unrelated or it could be that other staff (perhaps at higher levels) are also kiddie fiddling and they are all basically in cahoots with each other.

3) The school feels it is a minor offense or would not trust or be inclined to act of the statement of a farang.

We had an incident (actually a couple) where the school head staff took sides with the offending teacher despite at first agreeing that the particular teacher had a dubious history and such incidents would not be tolerated. We were perplexed until we discovered that the teacher in question was in possession of potentially highly damaging information that would have been a public exposure disaster to the school and so that explained why the teacher was exonerated and there was a complete offensive stance threatened by the school to us which included veiled threats of a defamation suit. At that point we gave up and withdrew our kids from the school as it was clear where they were coming from and also in such defamation suits in this country,... money determines the victor and therein lies the salt in the wound,... unethical corruption on top of the original offense.

Best advice to the OP might be to have an anonymous note drafted in Thai and deposited where the guard will find it.... basically reading "you've been seen touching kids on the groin and taking advantage. If it happens again you'll be relieved of at least one of your testicles and nobody will know who did it to you,.. including you!"

If he was a gate guard he will still work there, some school gate guards are local alcoholics (paid small money)

But I am amazed you have done nothing.

Agreed, you should have done something and it seems like because you didn't, you now feel guilty.

A week later, you're asking what to do on a forum??? facepalm.gif

He's alive though

Have you ever even BEEN here?

Crouchgrabbing is the national sport, look in any shop with much (young) personell, they do this all day.

I am a teacher and this is just a guess mind you, but, at my school, all day long I see the boys and girls grabbing boys crutches. It appears to be a form of recognition of the male. A weird form of right of passage.

I would like to say remember that we are not in your own culture, and while elsewhere we are constantly and rightfully reminded to care for the defenseless and innocent young, that this is not our culture but theirs. This culture is naively focused around the male persona or lack thereof. I find it extremely confusing and more often than not, paradoxical. I continue to observe in the hope of understanding.

Now there is a post that should set the alarms ringing for all concerned parents. Culture or not paedophilia should be confronted in all its manifestations. Continuing to observe is simply unacceptable. You are a teacher. Do something.

Spend some money and hire a private investigator to video and document any unusual activity such as what you observed. If you can bring this evidence forward to the school officials then you can get this potential low-life away from children at school. It you do it yourself as a foreigner you could find yourself in an awkward position. Getting the priviate investigator involved will allow you to keep your distance.

What planet are you from. Our village is awash with private investigators. Yeah right.

OP Kitsune, you are a pussy! YOU should have stepped in and scream on that uniformed jurk, or if you are afraid you should have started to video what you saw with your mobile, then post it on YouTube. Problem would have been quickly solved!

Action you should take, not ask all of us on our individual opinions! Stand up man!

Some people think the elders in a nudist community are abusing the children simply by walking around starkers.

There are many many examples of other-cultures doing things that they consider normal and harmless that westerners paranoid about this issue will regard as abusive.

Sexual abuse of children is motivated by the abuser getting stimulation.

I've seen female family members fellating a boy infant in play for a few seconds, everyone laughing all in good fun, apparently a local custom in the same spirit as peek-a-boo.

Try calling the cops on that. . .

The responses from the 1s working, presumably, as a teacher are quite worrysome. This ofcourse related to how the schoolofficials deal, not, with it. It stems from how kids are perceived by many in this nation. This combined with power executing, fear, saving face, a way different moral/ethical ground, no confrontation and lack of critical thinking must make many question to how safe their kids are at the schools.

Via fb 1 1/2 year ago a niece of my wife out of the blue wrote to me that a friend of hers, 17 yrs old, was being harrassed by a teacher to meet up in private. When i told her to report it to the schoolofficials and her parents....she replied...no no cannot.

Shame ?

Witnessed this brand of abuse of a 4-year-old boy twenty years ago in Ko Pangan in Tong Nai Pan.

It was nap time. An extremely sinister "gramps" Thai male type signalled a Mommy figure that it was *indeed* nap time.

The young boy began to whimper and whine as he was led to a small cabana structure near where I was seated. He went limp as "Gramps" followed him into the structure.

After a silence of a minute or so the boy began to whine and cry.

This continued for fifteen minutes or so until he left to rejoin Mom"

Mom have us one of those lovely grins we grow to detest here.

This was a fishing village back then.

There was no one to report to.

My companion, a middle class girl declared that there was NOTHING to be done.

That makes you just as guilty as the guy you tell us about. Shame on you.

And you are living breathing posting proof that many visitors to this country have no idea where they actually

It was common practice in this fishing village that any fishing boat these people spotted dropping nets in their area were busted by AK wielding villagers. There were no police, there was no authority except There was ONE boat out per day after one-hour trip to the port in a pickup. My Thai friend said NO way. You are not from here and you DO NOT MESS WITH ANYONE WHO IS.

At that time I counted three backpackers who'd gone missing AT DIFFERENT TIMES IN THE PAST MONTH whose relatives were searching for them.

I've a told quite a few Thai people about this. They all agree that there was nothing to be done.

You cannot control the world.

You probably really ARE lost in Surin.

I hope you remember your own advice when it rolls around.

Give me a break the OP COMES on here after a week for a soft sell. You act at the time or shut up. What do you want? Some abolishment for not going with your gut feelings at the time.

Also the bloke that wrote the war and piece segment might just pull back a little. ITS EASY TO ACCUSE AND EASY TO BE WRONG. YOU were there and did NOTHING now these judge Judy types are giving sentence. Could turn out your completely wrong. Even the way you describe it shows a bit of naivety. I'm guessing your female. May be wrong. Maybe just like you maybe wrong. And you ask on a forum a week later. Give me a call next time and I hold your hand to go talk to Mr uniform

kitsune unless you have very solid proof I'd advise treading very carefully.

The father of a 5 year old girl in our town is suspected of sexually abusing her. The local doctor confirmed she is no longer a virgin after the school sent her for treatment of a vaginal infection. It was not the first time the girl needed treatment.

The school and various medical people have quietly voiced their concerns but will not make formal complaints. There is a policeman living next to them and he is powerless to do anything without proof. Libel laws are strong and without the father being caught in the act the father will win a libel case against anyone making claims in public.

What is even more disturbing is the mother is standing by her husband. When initial problems surfaced 2 years ago the mother left the house with her daughter. She returned a week later on grandmothers orders.

Are you Judge Judy's getting this yet.

This is not a PTA meeting

And if you are fantasizing about hauling some old kid-fiddling gramps out of the cabana and calling him out in HIS village in front of his homies and his family without even being able to speak the local language you will get the shock of your life.

There is NOT a man or woman on this board who thinks that gramps shouldn't be horsewhipped, castrated, tarred and feathered, hanged, drawn and quartered.

Of you want a shot at this kind of action, just watch the goofs that think its fun to "interact" with the rose sellers on Lower Sukhumvit.

A few of is have grabbed a few of these fun-loving pedo creeps as they "interacted" with these poor kids. Threatened a few of them with serious consequences if we saw them again and looked around for the mae lao who was handling the action.

Four or five R&R guys can put the fear of god into one of these creeps.

It's a completely different matter when you are alone and unsupported in a fishing village which doesn't have ANY POLICE, no law and where they barely understand Bkk Thai.

You are living in a dream world.

And I think "fough-boaugh" supporters, in fact ANYONE spends all their time watching televised sport are irrelevant.

All they are good for is mob-minded groupthink. These idiots NEVER actually do anything except team-build around what they think is a safe consensus issue.

Go ahead. Take a shot at wrong-doing, wife-beating, child abuse, abuse of power, etc next time you see it.

Report back to is how you succeeded in overcoming the evil before you and saving the day for the benighted natives.

You people are beyond belief.

Anyway "whatsyourface" there you have no forking clue as your freely admit in your nick.

Last week I saw some officer guy in a uniform in a school molesting a kid.

He has quite a big guy, around 30/40 years old, he was sitting on a chair at the school entrance, and was play-fighting with a kid lying across his lap. His left hand was groping the kids crouch while he was playing with the child. The child attempted to remove his hand from his crouch but the man grabbed him somewhere else, so the kid had to let go and let his hand massaging his crouch.

What shall I do?

Relax, it's Thai culture to play with children's genitals even when they try to stop you.

You not Thai, you wrong, you no understan, you not good like Thai.
