giddyup
I was taken by a friend to a big Chinese temple a few years back, but I can't remember how we got there. It was on the road to Sattahip, on the left and a couple of klms inland. Anyone know the name and where the turnoff is?

bmanly
And the best part of that place is, NO DOUBLE CHARGING for farangs, everybody's the same to get in. Nice place by the way, been there many times.

giddyup
Can you get to it from Sukhumvit? Those Google maps just confuse me.
AbeSurd
Probably Wihan Xian Location on Google Maps Most foreigners I know refer to it as the 'Chinese Museum'. The brochure for the place calls it Viharnra Sien (or Anek Kusala Sala). On Sukhumvit there are signposts to 'Viharnra Sien'.
FracturedRabbit
Turn left off Suhkumvit past Baan Amphoe where there are signs to Wat Yannawangsaram (and Viharn Sien). Eventually the road comes to a lake. Turn right along the lake and you will arrive at Viharn Sien; the temple complex of Yannawangsaram is straight ahead and also worth a look. This is a view of the Thai temple complex looking south. You can see Viharn Sien in the top right of the picture DJI00027 by pattayadays.com, on Flickr

ThaiBob
What to do there ? Pray, meditate, make merit, free/feed fish in the lake, eat, walk, relax, many photo ops, visit neighboring temples, and Big Buddha mountain is just a short distance away.
FracturedRabbit
The martial arts statues on the top floor of the Chinese temple are interesting, and the little courtyard inside the entrance is pleasant. The Thai temple complex has many buildings and the one below has an art exhibit inside it, recently opened. I think the building itself is one of the more beautiful in Thailand. phantom5 by pattayadays.com, on Flickr The lake next to the temples is very pretty and there are some old lakeside buildings on the road to the Thai temples which are worth checking out for photos. Drive on from the Chinese temple and you arrive at the mountain with Buddha on it: DJI00006-Edit by pattayadays.com, on Flickr And then on to Silverlake with gardens to explore and a reasonable restaurant. One of the more pleasant areas around Pattaya.
