RioMist
My sister-in -law has quit her hotel job and is due to start her new hotel job soon. Her present Non Immigrant Visa runs out in 5 days time. Can she get an extension for that visa until she is ready to apply for her new work permit? Any advice please... Thanks
digitalchromakey
If your Sister in Law has a 90 day entry based on a non immigrant visa obtained outside of Thailand, then without any special extension considerations applying, the maximum extension of permission to stay is 7 days and is issued on a one off basis only. In the absence of a clear time table for the new job, then a border run with a 15/30 day stamp (depending on if she is from a G7 country or she is flying back in) i sthe best bet. ubonjoe
Visas are never extended. Only a permit to stay can be extended. For a non immigrant visa entry the most that can be applied for is 7 days unless you have supporting documents for a longer one.
