kcore
Greetings. Is there mini buses at dmk for hire . I arrive at 9:40am and would like to go directly to koh Chang . What is the best way to do this. Cost and time are important. Thanks
mrtoad
Not sue if anything direct from DMK. You are looking at around 3500 to 4000 by taxi. You could take a taxi from DMK to Ekamai and then take the bus or minibus. There are buses from Suarvhnabhumi airport.
edwardandtubs
If you go from Ekkamai bus station it's better to take the bus that goes direct to the pier rather than going to Trat and faffing around arranging transport to the pier.
asanee
avoid going via Ekamai-eats hours of extra time. Also be CLEAR about minibus/van: for hire or just a seat? approx arrival time? 1.take free shuttle bus to Swampy and connect there-lots of postings about the direct to ferry buses from there-also 2 vans till ON island IF these times not suit, take the next bus out to Trat-or even Chantaburi, via Motorway and change there-it will be waiting. 2.taxi or bus to the Vict Monmt for plenty of minibuses to either Trat or even the ferry quays. The buses via Swampy start mostly at Mochit2-to where you can also taxi or bus it
Lakegeneve
In addition to the above, as you said that cost is a factor, 1) Take the A2 bus or taxi from DMK to Mo Chit bus terminal where there are a number of departures a day (6-7) - check times but there would be one between 11-12ish 2) Take the AOT shuttle bus to Swamp as suggested where Lonely Beach Express bus company has services (only 2 or 3) direct from the Terminal to the pier for Koh Chang. They definitely have a 2pm bus. I believe the others are a 9am and 11am but you need to check that. Doubtful that you would make the 11am. Via private hire it would take you about 4 hrs to the pier, someone on another thread elsewhere last week negotiated 3200 from BKK airport upon landing. Via bus plan on 6 hrs incl transfers all up but the fare will be less than 400 baht.
