UK State Pension payments

Featured Replies

Is there anybody here who has suceeded in having their UK State Pension paid direct to their personal Thailand bank account.

Sent from my GT-I9200 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

The short answer is "yes" but you'd be better off asking in the pinned thread at the top of the page.

HTH

Yes, I've had mine payed into my Krung Thai branch account every four weeks for the past three years and it's always on time.

You can have your UK pension paid into a Thai bank account but only in Thai baht, which means

pensions UK will convert your pension into Thai baht then send it to your Thai baht account.

I was told when I started my pension in August last year that UK pensions do not send GBP to any

overseas pensioners only local currency. I have chosen to get my pension sent to my UK bank

account as I already have a standing order sent monthly to myThai foreign currency deposit GBP

account, this allows me to control when ( exchange rate favourable or not ) I wish to convert my

pounds to baht.

Of course this is only possible if you have a UK account.

Hope this helps. thumbsup.gif

I am advised, by those that have the OAP paid direct, that the rate is always fair and there are no transmission costs. I believe that the service providers to DWP use Bangkok Bank.

Anyone know if DWP would pay direct to a Sterling Jersey account, and if so, would they then consider you non-resident leaving your pension level frozen?

They pay directly to my KBank account and I gave them all the bank details, bank name and address, swift code, branch name, account name and number.

It gets paid on Friday in the UK and is usually in the bank here sometime Monday morning.

no freezing for Jersey, except when it snows
