BANGKOK, 17 March 2014 (NNT) - Lt Gen Paradorn Pattanathabutr will be appointed as advisor to the Prime Minister after the reinstatement of Mr Thawil Pliensri as Secretary General of the National Security Council (NSC).

Lt Gen Paradorn Pattanathabutr said he accepted the Central Administrative Court’s decision to reinstate Thawil Pliensri as NSC Secretary General, and it was likely that he would be transferred to be a PM’s adviser.

As for the pending peace dialogue with the southern insurgent group Barisan Revolusi Nasional, Lt Gen Paradorn said whether or not he will still be in charge of the operation is up to the cabinet. He pledged that he would do his best to restore peace to the violence-torn area if he was allowed to continue his duty.

The Administrative Court earlier ruled in favor of Thawil Pliensri who submitted a petition against his transfer from the NSC chief and requested that he be reinstated. Mr Thawil was removed from his post under a Prime Minister's order that saw him transferred to be an adviser to the PM's Office.

Good Doggie......here is your bone for being faithful to us.

Are you aware of what has been occurring for the past 10 months? The BRN finally agreed to sit down and talk with the government of Thailand. P.P. has had a major role in getting this to occur. If he goes, it could delay or even stop progress. He has to stay involved because of his active role in the negotiations. The military shuffle is also creating problems because some of the military officers involved in the talks have to be kept involved, but in accordance with seniority and military admin procedures, they would normally be moved up and out.

Progress ??? where, all I see is escalation of killings, How much has the PM been involved and how many visits has she made in the last 3 years ???

Unless there is someone out there that can control the drug situ--religious issues--border security, and most of all why not do what they have done in Issan, Have villages controlled by the government same the red villages. Thus knowing what is going on in the rural areas. Here seems to be the problem, most killing are by local guys with guns on motor bikes. From areas nearby.

Control the villages and the border no need for negotiations, snuff it out and control from there.

Negotiations---about what subject ??? you don't do these acts we will invest money here ???? never solve it.

Not for the last 10 months but for the last 10 years we keep hearing about talks being initiated between Southern Moslems and the Thai government.

Nothing good or progressive has ever come out.

I'm not going to speculate who's fault is it.

But do you really believe that this man is any different from all the others, than of being a good servant to his masters?

Paradorn was the beneficiary of Thawil' s unconstitutional removal, and so now he is moved to another portfolio. Paradorn has been one of Thaksin's more fervent supporters. But it also indicates that the resistance within Pheu Thai to Thawill's reinstatement has finally collapsed.

There is no negotiating with terrorists, they only understand one language and that is the language of the GUN.
