Non Imm O visa from Thai Embassy in Brussels

Featured Replies

can anyone help me out here as I am getting a bit confused.

Am 44 years old and a Belgian National. I have been staying in Thailand for over 14 years now on tourist visas as it was very conventient for my work as I worked in the cruise industry so was never longer then here then the max 3 months anyway.

Now I wont to stay here a bit longer so am planning to go get a non imm O visa in Belgium (where I will be going to for a vacation with the family)

I am not married but do have a son of almost 13 years old and a s I said not married but a GF of over 14 years. Son is my legal child with a birth certificate and legal paper from the local government here in Banglamung

Now I heard alot of talk about money being required on an account as being needed and also not being needed these papers needed and those papers needed but as I said it seem like every other advise has a different twist.

I checked on the website of the Royal Thai Embassy in Belgium and nothing is noted there about Visas based on having a Thai Child?

So is there anyone who can give me some advise on what I could be expecting when going there.

For now I believe I juat need the birth certificate and the legal paper declaring he is my legal child, His prove of being Thai and documents of his mother being the house book and ID card.

They both will be traveling with me to Belgium and will take them to the Embassy as I sure think this could be very helpful as well.

Please advise.

If you go to the Embassy with the family and all the paperwork I am sure they will assist you.

Best of luck

Based on having a Thai child normally has the same rules as for having a Thai wife.

But did you try the consulate in Antwerp?

Good advice.

The Antwerp consulate is, or at least used to be, very helpful.

But did you try the consulate in Antwerp?

couldn't even find any info on Non Imm O based on marriage.

Just for retirement

anyway am still confused and worried about the 400K you have to be able to show?

How do most of you do that?

There are only a few embassies or consulates that want to see 400k baht for a multiple entry non-o based upon marriage or have a Thai child.

I suggest you contact them to get info on their requirements.

^Think you mean that there are a few who do not want to see a bank statement ? .The only one i know is Savanaket Laos .Any others ?

You can get them based upon marriage at many places in Europe. Including the UK.if you apply at the embassy now. There was a lot of incorrect information going around about 6 months ago.

Be helpful if you and other members named where.

I suggested a long time ago that an addition to

"getting visas in the region"

have an added paragraph

"getting visas outside the region"

The embassy in Paris said I needed proof of France residency,

The embassy in Paris said I needed proof of France residency,

despite paying huge mooring fees a boat isnt proof of residence to landlubbers.

is a hoel recept acceptable in paris?

I know i read it before in post ,rolleyes.gif

but just want to show and help that also Thai Embassy & consulate in Belgium are following the general line about im posing more and more the financial requirements ,

and i gave the links for the emailadresses because they are both quick in replying with the requirements , as the person handling thse is a Belgium lady who works on the Brussels Embassy and also some days in Antwerp consulate ,

the non o application before my last one i have obtained my o visa multiple but being warned the next one must reach the 800 000 bht limit as that time i did not reach it . They are very helpfull but seems under thigtning rules from Embassy Brussels ;

if poster put his question on adreslink 1 or 2 (both are for the same Lady from Brussells who receive/ answers both ) he shall get the correct answers on his question .

i understand the difference with Married to Thai or Retirement just pointing rules are thightning more ..whistling.gif

Normally when proof of residency is asked for it means a resident visa or permanent residency.

You should contact the embassy to see what they want.

Based on what did you apply?

Based on retirement they would have wanted you to get a O-A visa and for that you need to have residency in the country you apply in.
