Farming Tomatoes

Featured Replies

Is anyone farming Thai tomatoes. By farming I mean like a quarter rai (or more) in the dirt and not in pots or hydroponics (lots has been written on these methods). I am specifically talking about either macua thet or macua cua. Also does anyone know if either or both of these are determinate or indeterminate?

Thanks

Hello All, have you thought of going to the Seed Co's www. and

looking up the info?

East-West, Chia Tai, Known You and many other Seed Co's have

that info available to the grower, that is one of the things I go through

BEFORE I order $200. of seed to be sent me here in LOS.

You can always call the seed co and ask!

I was looking at doing the plum type on a smaller scale later on and doing the larger ones on a larger scale in a few months. I didn't plan on buying seeds from a store, just get 20kg or really ripe ones from the market and making my own seeds. That is what we do growing the small tomatoes and when we do chillis. Thanks for the photos, I'll be able to get the info on other variety that way.

Hello All, if your going to save seed from market toms, do you know if

they are Hyb. or OP? A lot of market toms are from Hyb. seed.

For about Bt.140 you can buy enough sml. plum toms(sum tum) seed

to plant over one rai with transplants, same with eggs.

You know what your starting out with, you'll also know if you need 1M

or 1.5M or 2M bamboo for support.

It's better to have growing info than guessing.
