What do you mean things like this Grenade attack on Tonson Tower in Lumphini

June you say ?

Avoid the Teletubbies rallies in Lumphini.

All safe, just stay clear of the protest sites though the outskirts (tent areas) your fine. Don't act like the ignorant (white trash) tourist. Now don't see them anywhere, but still act like the educated tourist. You should be fine but as a precaution, don't wear solid yellow or red shirts. Everywhere should be safe, at least from protesters. Be educated with southern Thailand (crime & lawlessness) beforehand, & the north about health safeguards (pollution).

I live BK and even thru the protests traveled anywhere and everywhere without the slightest of conflicts.

It's safe to say that it's only safe to stay inside your room, 24 hours a day, and simply have all your food and girls delivered to your room over the internet. That way, you'll enjoy all that BKK has to offer AND you'll go home in one piece.

pom66 some of these posts aren't very helpful are they? I can tell you I stayed in Suk Soi 11 the weekend of the election and it was fine.

No trouble getting to and from the airport and able to walk around freely without any hassle. Asok had a camp, I don't know if its still there now but easy to bypass on the skytrain.

Go BKK and have a great time, I did.

Cheers ToneG

if you don't lose your common sense, Bangkok might be easily the safest metropolis to stay anywhere worldwide..... while there is of course crime ongoing, RANDOM crime against foreigners is VERY VERY rare (unlike Pattaya or Phuket) and easy to avoid, if, well yeah, u just don't lose your common sense....

EDIT:

okay, maybe I should not be too enthusiastic about my little beloved Monster that is Bangkok: SINGAPORE might be even safer....... but at the same time more boring for sure ;-)
