Hostas

Featured Replies

HI

Can any of you gardeners out there tell me if the following grow and are available in Thailand.

Hosta's, Irises (flags), Acer trees & Arum lilies?

Thanks TBWG :o

I would think Thailand would be too hot for hostas and Irises. Both need a chilling period I believe.

Not sure about the other two tho.

Hi sbk

Thanks for your input and I follow your logic, but I have also seen agapanthas thriving in Thailand and they also need a cold period in europe.

Spos'e the only way to find out is to plant some and see :o

Actually, I don't think Agapanthus needs a chilling period, what I mean by a chilling requirement is a certain number of days below freezing. Apples won't produce without that, and tulips certainly won't bloom either.
