Wet suit-like material in BKK?

Featured Replies

I need a bit of wet suit-like material to use as padding on something. Anyone know a store that might have something like this. Could even be similar to yoga mat material, perhaps. (Though I've never looked at one of those close up, I have a hunch they are that similar foam rubber type material.) Actually, if they're not too expensive, maybe some sort of mat like that would work--I'd just cut some pieces off it. Thx.

The carpart shops have that. Foam rubber mat.. We have one in the boot of the car and i also used pieces of that to protect my sunglasses on the motorbike.

300 baht for a mat the size of a towell. Maybe a mousemat also can do the job for you, or a beerholder.

What part of BKK?

I'd recommend a shoe making shop, where you'll see rolls of black and colored closed cell foam rubber out front.

Tons of shops in Chinatown, a whole street full of them around Wong Wian Yai MRT, and one or two on Rama 4 between Sirikit Center and TESCO. Bottom line, they're all over BKK so it's best to look for one close to home.

I found some shops that sell materials for shoe shops on Rama 4 between Sukhumvit Soi 24 and Asoke Road. For B50 I got a bath-mat-size piece of stuff that should work. FYI.
