The living cost seems about the same in thai and uk he pays 7k month on his house which I pay less than that in uk any word of advice for my mate?

How old are both of you?

I have heard of farang teachers making I believe around 25000 baht A month

20k/m is slave wages...even the lowly "English" teachers make more than this just for turning up partially sober...laugh.png

The problem is that your friend is a programmer "administrator". No programmer worth his code is going to work for less than 100,000 baht a month in a place like Thailand. Your friend, on the other hand, is a programmer "administrator". The word "administrator", in Thaiglish, means the person who makes coffee for the people who actually do the real work in the office. In reality, he's lucky to be making 18k/month, but then again he can probably make a mean latte.
