Basil B
Saudi 's are complaining about a justice system Suppose you mean kettle calling pot black. But someone was supposedly murdered, no one should be above the law, whether in Thailand or Saudi Arabia. May be the solution here is if Thailand and Saudi were able to agree on asking neutral country to investigate and review all the evidence.

No-one should be above the law? The law in Saudi Arabia is Islam Sharia, the fundamentalist Wahabbi interpretation thereof, and it includes different standards for infidel/unbelievers, Saudis, and foreign Muslims. Example: Rape. Four male witnesses required, otherwise the default is that the victim is prosecuted for adultery. A "Western" foreigner victim may be able to benefit from diplomatic intervention so as to get out of jail and get out of the country. Victim not "Western", the sentence for adultery can be death penalty. I feel sorry for those 10000 workers from Thailand who are working in Saudi arabia. Indeed. So i am not interested in Saudi complaints about justice. They consider themselves above normal standards, anyway.

EyesWideOpen
The estimated value of the jewels including the blue diamond at the time of the theft was 20 million dollars. The total of the lost wages by Thai workers was in the hundreds of millions of dollars. What total arrogance by whoever is holding the jewels. They cannot be worn, why not just return them ??? Someday a movie will be made about this affair, and Thailand will lose some serious face....... Edited November 26, 2014 by EyesWideOpen
