The pro-Suthep farang are in fact and reality contemporary fascists who want to retain as much of the quaint and charming feudal order of the post-war period as possible. They don't want girls from Issan out of their bar slave roles in Bangkok nor do they want any more of the modern world in Thailand than they are compelled by reality to accept. Developments of the past 14-15 years are directly relevant to these fahlang, personally, vitally, in their entirety. Their virulent lashing out against the changes modernization has imposed on the society testifies to the vested interests of these farang in their own private yet passé quaint and charming feudal Thailand. If they weren't so personally invested in multiple ways, they wouldn't be making such unrelenting and unrestrained personal attacks against those who threaten their own private Thailand.

The talk in recent years of republicanism is just that, a lot of empty talk. Keep In mind however that such talk mortifies these fahlang. The only two native English language countries that are republics are Ireland and the United States, neither of which are strongly represented among farang. Even the empty talk of republicanism here doesn't calm the hyper horrors of so many fahlang.

(Also overlooking every ridiculous claim of the desires of other posters beyond the first sentence...)

So everybody on this forum who challenges "red rule" (read: can see through their heavily PR-enforced BS) is a "fascist" ?

Well there's clearly a wide range of them on here, from what appear to be a wide range of cultural and political backgrounds.

With so many of these "contemporary" Neo-Nazi's about on here, it's a wonder why this forum wasn't shut down years ago.

Sent from my armchair

Your post is in the category of things my post never said.

The pro-Suthep farang are in fact and reality contemporary fascists

You got "this forum" in there twice, so, yes, you are right in this respect - everyone here is at this forum. And a fine forum it is. smile.png

The mass rally to be staged by the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) on the Aksa road in Bangkok’s suburbs this Saturday and Sunday is just a “final exercise before the big war” after Songkran festival, said Jatuporn Promphan on Wednesday.

Very diplomatic words that will surely end the bitter factional divisions and bring about a new dawn of unity and friendship.

And as a bonus, when they march they don't need to buy whistles. On windy days that big empty object ontop of Jatuporn's neck makes a melodious whistling sound when the breeze blows through his ears.

It's going to be interesting this weekend.

Judging by the reaction on here the reds shouldn't have a voice at all.

There have been attempts to get both parties together to try and at least come to some compromise however it's fallen on deaf ears on both sides but mainly on suteps with his my way or the highway attitude.

After all these months I just see the same posts over and over tit for tat and where is it at now ?Back to square one.

Basically the dems know when it goes to an election they will lose .The so called reform committee or what ever it's called isn't going to happen.Army coup well the army says no they have learned from the past.Civil war nope.

The good news for sutep is he's got the Guinness book of records for the longest most expensive picnic in the park of all time.

Backpedalling on semantics. Pretty pathetic.

I am amazed at the overwhelming anti democratic posts here.

You are all advocating Thailand rejects the voters choice of government. (yet again)

Why?

It has zero relevance to you, as a foreigner, yet you think your views mean something.

They are irrelevant so calm down and stop thinking you know what you are talking about.

But I do know what I am talking about. I have been acknowledged (in print) by the mayor of Chiang Mai as "our local historian". My books on Thailand are used in courses for postgraduates at Chulalongkorn University. The Tourism Authority of Thailand has told me directly (when working for them) that "you know better than us".

Not everyone on this forum is a dumb redneck know-nothing Farang. But perhaps you are?

You are the exception that proves the rule. Thank you.

Shame you feel the need to throw random insults. It demeans you.

It shows that despite knowing better than Thais how their country should be run you are insecure in your position.

Dear arrogant Bangkok People,

lets imagine the UDD comes to Bangkok and no violence happends. I think then you are very unhappy. Oh my god, the redshirts are so primitive and you Bangkok people are so cultivated and intelligent.

I can understand very well, why some people dont want to be governed from Bangkok.

This is the reason I dont want to live in a big city. I dont want to become like you.

Dear Arrogant Tom,

I have lived in a small northern Thai village for 25 years. I fully support the idea of decentralisation and the promotion of regional values. But Thaksin and his clan are murderous thieves, while Natthawut and Jatuporn are simply thugs, totally unrepresentative of the good people of the north - for heaven's sake, the latter two are southern gunmen with less northern links than I have.

So I don't want to become like you - and nor do any of my Khon Mueang compatriots.

Unfortunately the elections in your bailiwick show that the Thaksin clan and red shirt members hold the fort

Please, please, please tell me - when will the final "final exercise" take place? All of these "final exercises" are wearing rather thin.

The worry is that the UDD/Red Shirt hardliners will start a Civil war. That would be a bad thing.

Seem that a simple election will stop all these madness. However we have one side insisting and persisting with undemocratic power grap with help of the judiciary. If you keep ousting a democratically elected government by means of a putsch thrice in just 9 years, you got very angry people whose freedom of choice has been trampled again and again.

Yet one more example, as if we needed if, of the Reds' intolerance of any opinion other than their own. Now, they want to "cleanse" this forum of messages that offend them. A good example of what the Khmer Rouge-like Reds will do when they get their hands around the entire throat of Thailand. A plunge off a precipice into darkness.

They were elected you know. They can do what they want now. Don't have to answer to anyone. Above the law.

Usual PTP/UDD mantra.

What amazes me is that people really fall for the PR that PTP are democractic.

I wont say they are democratic, but they where democratic elected by the majority of Thai people.

What amazes me is that people really fall for Suthep and believe he will ever lead to democracy .

Big man ,big mouth and small brain. At the sound of gunfire he will be the first to run.

after 2010's burning season, bangkokians won't leave it to the bib this time to ensure these guys maintain peace and order.

"Have trust in their leaders"

That's where all of Thai problems stem from. Problem is that a large percentage of the general public are of such poor education and without the ability to think for themselves, they will follow idiots like this guy.

This is about a prominent Red Shirt leader calling on his followers to start a civil war. This is an incitement to violence, is it not?

You don't have to be an "arrogant Bangkok person", cultivated or even all that intelligent to not want a frigging civil war!

What is your point, Tom?

Very good post.

And they hate the 300 Baht minimum wage and tax rise on beer...

When the Reds occupied the streets in Bangkok, many Farangs cried foul on daily base.

Now with the Yellow Whistle Mob doing the same since 4 month, they are very quiet even the business is more down than ever before.

All Jutaporn is saying is that people mandate should be respected, not trampled and violated. If you believed in democracy, you should cheer for him. Give the UDD the right to elect and they will go home. Simple.
