Does anyone know the English name of the vegetable that looks like a green pea in Thai Green Curry? My wife says it's from the eggplant family - the Thai name sounds like "makhua something". I know that "makhua ted" is tomato, if that helps in deciphering my phonetic Thai...

In English, usually "Pea Aubergine"; in American, "Pea Eggplant". However, Pea Aubergine (Solanum torvum) isn't actually the same species as true aubergines (Solanum melongena).

Nasty little buggers, i ping em at the Dog.Green Red and Curry is my Fav now. Yellow doest seem the same any more for some reason.
